PlayTime issued an official statement following its disqualification from the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2

The esports organization PlayTime released an official statement to the media after being barred from participating in the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup. The club announced that the employees involved have been suspended pending an internal investigation and apologized to the organizers, opponents, and fans.
In light of the situation that arose during the EWC 2026, PlayTime issues the following official statement:
1. Zero Tolerance and Organizational Integrity
PlayTime adheres to a strict policy of zero tolerance for any actions that undermine the integrity of the competition. PlayTime’s management had no involvement in and was unaware of the alleged match-fixing or rule violations. Our commitment to fair play remains unwavering.
2. Full Cooperation and Internal Measures
PlayTime fully respects and complies with the operational measures taken by the EWC organizers. At the same time, the organization’s management has initiated a thorough internal investigation and suspended the individuals involved until the investigation is complete. Due to these circumstances, our scheduled match last night did not take place. We are in constant contact with EWC representatives and are cooperating fully to ensure complete transparency.
3. Apology for the Cancellation of the Match
We sincerely apologize to the EWC organizers, our scheduled opponents, and esports fans around the world who were looking forward to this match. We deeply regret the disruption to the tournament schedule caused by this situation.
4. Commitment to Accountability
PlayTime was founded on a commitment to relentless athletic excellence. We strongly condemn any behavior that violates the spirit of esports. If an official investigation confirms that any member of our team was involved in illegal activities, we will take immediate and severe disciplinary action, including terminating contracts and formally notifying all relevant regulatory authorities.
We will focus entirely on cooperating with the relevant authorities and will refrain from commenting on unconfirmed allegations until the investigation is complete. We thank the organizers, partners, and our fans for their vigilance and understanding.
Earlier, PlayTime received a technical loss in their match against Vici Gaming amid an ESIC investigation into mid-laner Oswaldo Gonzalo “DarkMago” Herrera Martínez and coach Juan David “Vintage” Angulo Nicho; subsequently, the tournament organizers announced PlayTime’s removal from the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup due to the commission’s suspicions of violations of anti-corruption rules.
