Interview

Quinn: “No[o]ne-, in my opinion, always holds his lane well, but it’s rarely spectacular.”

Semyon Nomerovsky
Quinn is competing for Gaimin Gladiators at ESL One Birmingham 2024.

Analyst and former pro player Quinn Callahan spoke on the ALL CHAT podcast about the difference between the mid laners on PARIVISION and BetBoom Team and discussed “Insania” by Sarkohi with Austin “Cap” Walsh and Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi about the conflict between Martin “Saksa” Sazdov and Neta “33” Shapira.

On the difference between Danil “gpk” Skutin and Vladimir “No[o]ne-” Minenko

Quinn: I think that out of these two, gpk holds the lane better. They’re both very good, but gpk is more explosive. He has the potential to take over the game, whereas No[o]ne-, in my opinion, always holds the lane well, but it’s rarely spectacular.

On gpk’s performance as Earth Spirit in the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 Grand Final

Quinn: Well, his Earth Spirit in the final was just so-so. We watched those games—there was one fight after another, and he kept using Magnetize on heroes with dispel. He’d cast his ultimate, and it would end right away; Magnetize would wear off and not spread, even though he had 0.8 seconds to do so before the enemy dispelled it.

This happened three times in a row. I was watching the matches with Cr1t-, and he was like, “Dude, what is this guy doing?”—he was just going crazy watching his Earth Spirit. That’s definitely not his hero.

Insania: And this, again, is one of the coolest things about Dota 2: you’re so good that your gameplay works against 90% of teams, but as soon as you face an opponent who’s on your level—it suddenly looks terrible. That, I think, is exactly what happens when players like that pick heroes that don’t suit them.

On the conflict between Saksa and 33

Cap: The reason he left the roster with 33 had to do with Net itself. And Saksa said that bridge has been burned completely. Do you have anything to say about that?

Insania: I’m really curious to hear what happened, if he’s willing to share. But I think we’ll have to wait for the next episode.

Cap: Yeah, I promise, we’ll ask that question.

Quinn: It adds some personality, you know? Now that Team Yandex and 1w Team are playing at TI, it’ll make for a good story. A lot of people knew, but by no means everyone.

Cap: As commentators, we couldn’t really weave that into the narrative, right? Like, “Yeah, he left his old team—they’re rivals.” We could have said that, but it doesn’t really resonate until you can say outright what we all assumed anyway—that it’s because of 33. But I’m not going to build a false narrative around that. We need to hear it from the players themselves. And the fact that he announced it publicly—now we can use that, and it’ll be much better, much more impactful.

Earlier, Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi spoke on the same podcast about Team Liquid’s performance at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2: “This isn’t just a disappointment anymore—it’s a disgrace. I truly believe that for these five players to perform so poorly is very, very sad.”
