On October 27, the VALORANT developers released Update 13.09, which introduced the new Agent Hush, updated ability descriptions and tooltips, buffed Warden, and fixed bugs that had previously existed in the game. See our article for the full list of changes in Russian.
Agent Changes — All Platforms
New Agent: Hush
Hush hails from Guangdong Province and uncovers the most secretive affairs using telekinesis. Acting with precision and grace, she adapts her abilities on the fly to disrupt her enemies’ plans, forcefully move them, and lift them into the air before delivering the decisive blow.
- “Telekinesis” (passive ability). Hush can pick up weapons and Spike (if playing as an attacker), as well as interact with switches from a greater distance.
- “Driving Force.” SELECT “Driving Force.” Press the “FIRE” button to throw. Press the “ALTERNATE FIRE” button to prepare. Press the ability button again to send the charge moving in the direction of your crosshair. After a delay or upon hitting any surface, it explodes, pulling all players toward the center and stunning them upon impact with a surface or another player. Recharges after every two kills. (Known issues: In this update, the “Driving Force” ability will display an outdated name. This bug will be fixed in the next update.)
- “Blinding Flask.” SELECTS “Blinding Flask.” Press the “FIRE” button to throw. Press the “ALTERNATE FIRE” button to prepare. Press the ability button again to make the flask move in the direction of your crosshairs. After a delay, or upon hitting any surface, it explodes, blinding all players looking at the explosion.
- “Hover.” Instantly creates an anchor. If Hush is in the air, he hovers in place for a short time. After a delay, Hush dashes toward the anchor.
- “Suspension.” Instantly prepares “Suspension.” Press the “FIRE” button to launch a charge forward. Adjust the direction using the crosshairs. Press the ability button or the “FIRE” button again to trigger an explosion and launch all players into the air.
Updated Ability Descriptions and Tips
The developers have updated all ability descriptions for greater clarity and consistency.
More agents now have passive ability descriptions in the relevant sections, such as the agent selection screen, the agent list, and ability tooltips. This also applies to passive abilities that previously lacked an in-game description or a clear category, such as Neon’s “Accumulator.”
The developers have redesigned the ability tooltips, highlighting key information about the agent, their role, and button functions to make the information easier to read. Tooltips now appear at the right moments, such as when testing a new agent at the shooting range.
Updates to Perks
The developers have added “Acceleration” and “Static Marker” to the list of official terms. “Acceleration” is a perk that increases movement speed—unlike the “Combat Stimulant,” which increases fire rate and also speeds up weapon selection, reloading, and recovery. Now it will be easier for players to distinguish between and extend the effects of Acceleration and the Combat Stimulant.
A static marker is a debuff that appears as a static image of a target’s silhouette (Cypher’s “Neurotheft”/“Camera”).
- Brimstone: “Stim Beacon” will display the acceleration currently affecting players.
- Clove: “Boost” will display the applied speed boost. Since a timer appeared in the UI with the addition of the speed boost, the developers removed the previous timer to avoid clutter.
- Miks: “Harmony” will display the acceleration affecting players.
- Neon: The fastest agent will be under the effect of acceleration when using the “Increased Speed” and “Full Power” abilities.
- Waylay: Waylay’s “Convergence” buff has been renamed to “Acceleration” since they function identically.
Clove
After analyzing the buffs, the developers discovered some inconsistencies with Clove and decided to bring the agent in line with the general standard. Clove’s movement speed bonus was higher compared to similar bonuses from other abilities. Additionally, the kill reward for an agent after using “Too Soon to Die” differed from similar ones.
- Movement speed bonus reduced: 15% >>> 10%.
- Now, an agent who kills Clove after she uses the “Too Soon to Die” ability will receive one ultimate point and one special ability refresh point.
Jett
- Jett’s passive ability has been removed from the purchase menu, in line with other passive abilities that cannot be purchased.
Ranked Game Changes — All Platforms
Balance Review
Hush is the first agent added to the game since the launch of the Performance Rating system. In the early days, players’ performance while playing as Hush may fluctuate slightly as the developers fine-tune the effective support metrics.
Additionally, the developers have updated the post-match screen to include more information about performance metrics.
- PC Only — A tooltip about trades on the stats screen.
- A new “Learn More” tab with additional information about the performance rating.
Map Rating
Now, the best match of an Act has a greater impact on the map rating for each Act, which will highlight both consistent performance and record-breaking results.
Achievements
The “First Blood” achievement was too easy to earn. The developers have raised the threshold to make it slightly more challenging. This change will not affect achievements already earned.
Store Changes — All Platforms
South Korea only: Radianite Points can now be purchased directly in-game.
Weapon Changes — All Platforms
Warden
The developers noted that they want to make the Warden a more versatile weapon so that it justifies its current price of 2,900 credits. These buffs will make the weapon more comfortable and easier to master.
- Smoother vertical recoil during the first few shots.
- Reduced bullet spread on subsequent shots.
- Reduced accuracy deviation for the second bullet: 0.25 >>> 0.2.
- Reduced accuracy deviation for the third bullet: 0.6 >>> 0.5.
