RCY on GamerLegion at the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup: “We have a pretty good grasp of the meta”

GamerLegion midlaner Francis “RCY” Fundemera spoke about the team’s drafts and assessed their start to the tournament in an interview following their victory over Poor Rangers at the Esports World Cup 2026.
On confidence in victory after the drafts
As far as the draft goes, I think ours was better overall—our heroes were generally better. We have a pretty good grasp of the meta, so in my opinion, our 2-0 victory was a foregone conclusion.
On other teams underestimating GamerLegion
I’m not sure; maybe some teams think that way—that’s their choice.
On Unconventional Drafts
Yes, we definitely have a lot of heroes in our arsenal. We’ve played a lot of scrims with different characters, so maybe we’ll be able to showcase them in some matches.
On why the team was able to get off to a good start in this tournament
I think the difference is that we had a good boot camp: we played a lot of Dota and are confident that we understand how other teams play. We’ve played against many strong teams, so we’ve seen what’s going on right now.
On expectations for the tournament
I don’t like to put expectations on the team. I just want to play well. I hope my team wants to perform well, too. I just want to win.
Earlier, content creator and host Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner spoke about GamerLegion’s qualification for The International 2026, assessed the team’s performance in the North American qualifiers, and shared his expectations for their performance at the tournament.
