SirActionSlacks shared the story behind the fearless draft

Esports host Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner spoke on his personal YouTube channel about the Fearless Draft format in Dota 2 and the conflict between Martin “Saksa” Sazdov and Neto “33” Shapira.

About the Fearless Draft

Rumor has it that BLAST is considering using the “no-repeat draft” format at its next event—a system similar to League of Legends, where a hero can only be picked once per series. As if Riot invented it.

You damn noobs. You don’t know your roots! You’re letting them steal from us without knowing the history of Dota 2. Fearless Draft from LoL? But that’s my mode—the one I created ten years ago! We used to host tournaments on MoonduckTV. That was a really cool thing that the creators of League of Legends literally stole from us.

And you think Riot invented it all on their own. Listen: BLAST has already ripped off Midas Mode and turned it into BLAST Bounty Hunt. But you know what they did? They came up to me and said: “SirActionSlacks, we want to do Midas Mode in Counter-Strike and Dota 2—we’d like your blessing. Would you like to come to Blast Bounty Hunt?” And I replied, “Thanks for asking. Sure, let me help you out.”

League of Legends never reached out to me. The game’s developers didn’t say, “We’re going to steal this. Any advice?” So, BLAST organizers, if you’re listening, I think you should try this format. I have to say, it’s fun. In Elimination Mode, you could only really see the absolute bottom of the champion pool in a best-of-5 series. It would be a dream to do a best-of-7 to bring the absolute worst champions to light. It would be cool to watch that.

I tried to find the source of these rumors, but it turned out to come from… nowhere. Just like with the massive Turbo-mode tournament, it was a random Telegram user who claimed it might exist.

On the conflict between Saksa and 33

Saksa said that one of the reasons he left Tundra was personal circumstances, and then went on to state outright that the reason was 33. He said he doesn’t want to stay friends—the bridges between them have been burned. As far as he’s concerned, this person is dead. That’s wild.

I thought he just didn’t like Sneyking. But now it turns out he actually hated 33. Big news. They say Neta can be a difficult person to work with. In any case, it’s old news—I don’t care. One thing makes me happy: at least this drama will give us a reason to get excited about the fourteen inevitable matches between Team Yandex and 1w Team at the end of the season.

Earlier, Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner commented on BetBoom Team’s performance at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2: “You have to give BB credit. They went from the survival stage all the way to the grand final with a 13-game winning streak.”
