Sneyking: “I play every tournament as if it were my last.”

Team Falcons captain Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu, in an interview following their victory over Rune Eaters in the group stage of the 2026 Esports World Cup, discussed the reasons behind Undying’s popularity and shared his impressions of playing in the tournament.
On expectations for the match
We didn’t have any expectations; we just played and tried to get better with every game.
On Shadow Fiend
I think there’s a strategy for this hero, but it seems to me that every team has its own take on how to handle him: some give him freedom and try to catch up in the game, while others focus on disrupting his lane.
On the reason for Undying’s popularity
I think it’s related to the meta. When ranged heroes are popular—like Drow Ranger, Windranger, or Nature’s Prophet—then heroes like Undying and Tusk become popular in the support role. It all depends on how the meta evolves, and even within this tournament, that could change. We’ll see.
On the difficulty of destroying barracks
Yes, pushing up the high ground is definitely difficult, but some teams that play very fast—like Team Liquid—can still push it at the 25–30-minute mark. I think it depends on the team’s style. I think we’re a team that plays for late-game development, and we don’t aim to end the game early unless the opportunity presents itself. I think both strategies are good right now. Of course, pushing to the high ground isn’t easy, and you have to coordinate a specific draft, but it’s still worth it, which is great.
On the experience of playing in the tournament
Everyone knows this could be the last tournament. No one knows when you’ll be too weak to play, so we try to give it our all. I play every tournament as if it were my last, because you can’t look too far into the future or the past—you have to stay in the present. Right now, we’re preparing for each game one at a time. Our goal is to make it to the playoffs: if not directly, then through the last-chance matches. That’s our goal right now—to make it to the playoffs.
