Speeed commented on the hero changes in Dota 2 Patch 7.41e

GamerLegion support player Paul “Speeed” Boccicchio recorded a video analyzing the changes in Patch 7.41e for his YouTube channel.
On the nerf to Drow Ranger
Drow lost a full 5% win rate—I saw the stats. She was the most nerfed hero in the patch, similar to Snapfire, whom we’ll get to later. The mana cost of her E has increased by 20 at level 1 and by 15 at max level. It now scales in a strange way, but yes, 20. The hero already had mana issues in lane, and now they’ve gotten even worse. They also nerfed the range of E by a fairly significant amount and reduced its damage by 20%. It seems that simply nerfing the ability was enough to lower the hero’s win rate by 5%, which is pretty crazy. A significant nerf.
About Hoodwink
Conceptually, the hero will remain roughly the same, but they increased the cost of his ultimate by 50 mana and reduced the duration of Shard by two seconds. They’re just hitting the hero’s mana pool, which already has serious issues. You’ll have to buy mana boots and maybe even consider an Aether Lens in the mid-game to improve the situation a bit.
About Necrophos
Sadist has gotten a little weaker, but it’s not the end of the world—I’m almost certain of that. The more significant change is to Death Seeker. Shard has lost 150 range. In my opinion, that’s a huge change, because you used to be able to enter and exit fights from ridiculous distances. This was absolutely necessary for this hero due to his poor mobility: he simply lacks it, which is exactly why people buy Boots of Travel, Blink Dagger, and all that. So yes, it’s a pretty big nerf for Necrophos, but I still think that in the right situations, the hero will be overpowered.
About Snapfire
Probably the biggest nerf in the patch, aside from Drow. To be honest, I thought this was probably the biggest nerf. <...> The nerf is significant. I still think she’s a pretty solid hero, but she’s not the monster she used to be.
About Patch 7.41e
It’s a pretty solid patch, but nothing crazy. I was hoping for a little more, to be honest. But yeah, just nerfs to meta heroes and some minor buffs.
Patch 7.41e was released in Dota 2 on the night of July 31. Valve made a number of changes affecting certain items, including neutral items, and heroes. Timbersaw and Chen saw the biggest increases in win rate.
