LGD Gaming mid laner Said Samail “SumaiL” Hassan spoke about his new team in an interview at BLAST SLAM VIII and explained why he decided to continue his professional career.
Yes, there have been major changes. This team brings together people of different nationalities; we have a very diverse roster. Now my captain is a two-time champion, and our coach is BuLba. So far, it’s been pretty interesting. We’re trying to reach a common understanding, and I think we’re doing pretty well. Things are moving faster than they usually do in new teams, and I’m glad about that. That’s thanks to Sneyking.
Just to be perfectly clear: I said, “most likely.” Technically speaking—I just want to clarify that.
To be honest, I thought that if Spirit won their third TI, it would definitely be the end for me. But the exact opposite happened. Yatoro inspired me: he’s relatively young, and he has that fire, that desire to keep going.
Then I met with people, talked to friends and family. And I realized that continuing to play makes perfect sense. Especially if I can put together a team I truly believe in. At that point, I saw no reason to quit. So here we are again.
SumaiL joined LGD Gaming after The International 2026. In his first tournament with the new team—PGL Wallachia Season 9—he took third place, losing to Natus Vincere in the lower bracket final.
At BLAST SLAM VIII, LGD Gaming advanced to the last-chance bracket, where today, October 3, they’ll face GamerLegion for a spot in the playoffs. The match starts at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time.
