Team Yandex advanced to the BLAST SLAM VIII playoffs; MOUZ was eliminated from the tournament

Team Yandex and OG emerged victorious in the first set of Group C matches on the third day of BLAST SLAM VIII. They defeated BetBoom Team and MOUZ, respectively, with both matches ending 2-0.

Yandex opened the series with a 37-minute victory; Ilya “CHIRA_JUNIOR” Chirtsov’s final stats on Invoker were 10/1/17. On the second map, BB Team performed better on the lanes and early in the mid-game, but Alexander “Accell” Litvinenko’s squad subsequently managed to seize the initiative and prevent their opponents from tying the series.

In the late game of the first match, MOUZ repeatedly attempted to close the gap, which they managed to do a few minutes before “Throne” fell; however, the team lost a key hero without a buyback, and OG took advantage of the situation to destroy the “Mice’s” main base. On the second map, Igor “kaffs” Estevao’s team steadily built up an economic lead from the very beginning, which led them to victory.

Next, BB Team and OG will face off tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. Moscow time; the loser will be eliminated from the tournament. MOUZ was eliminated from Group C today.

“Yandex” will face Team Spirit—the match will take place on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The winner will secure a spot directly in the upper semifinal, while the loser will start the playoffs in the quarterfinals.

BLAST SLAM VIII runs from September 29 to October 11. The final stage of the championship will be held in Malta, with six teams advancing to the playoffs based on their group stage results.
