Wits on winning the 2026 Games of the Future in Dota 2: “It feels great. But for me, that’s not enough.”
Carry player PlayTime Héctor “Wits” Orozco Als in an interview following his championship win at the 2026 Games of the Future in Dota 2 shared his emotions after the victory and spoke about the significance of the title for South America and Asia.
On winning the tournament
To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations going into the tournament because I’d seen how our practices were going. The main problem at the start was communication. Scofield had a lot of good ideas, but he had a hard time getting them across to the team. At one point, I told him, “If you want to explain something to the guys, just tell me, and I’ll translate.” After that, a lot changed. Now I feel great.
On the importance of the victory for Asia and South America
[Do you feel that this victory is important for South America as a whole? Or can it be considered a success for two regions at once—South America and Southeast Asia—which haven’t been doing so well lately?]
I think this victory is important for all of us—for South America, for Peru, and for the Philippines.
On his feelings after the victory
Of course, it feels great. But for me, that’s not enough. The best players win tournaments regularly, and I want to be one of them. This is just my first trophy, so I’ll keep working hard and giving it my all.
On who he’d like to stay on the team with forever
I think with everyone.
