The upcoming 7.0 update for Genshin Impact will introduce the long-awaited Snow Region—a land inspired by Slavic countries. Along with it, the game will feature new characters, story content, exploration mechanics, enemies, and banners. Some of this information has already been confirmed by the developers, while other details are based on reliable insider sources and may change closer to release. In this article, we’ve compiled everything known about the Genshin Impact 7.0 update: characters, banners, mechanics, events, and more.

On July 31 at 3:00 p.m. Moscow Time, the developers will host a special stream dedicated to the Genshin Impact 7.0 update. During the stream, they’ll reveal the first details about Snowfall, discuss the storyline, new characters, game mechanics, and other content in the upcoming update. As usual, viewers can also expect promo codes for Primogems and other in-game rewards.
The Snowy region will become available with the release of the Genshin Impact 7.0 update, which is set to launch on August 12, 2026. The update will run through September 23, and a few days before release, the developers will open pre-download so players can download the main update files in advance.
In the first phase, two new characters will be released: the five-star Odette and the four-star Alyosha.
Odette — a student/follower of Signora the Harbinger, a ballerina. She can summon a doppelganger that attacks with combined strikes. Her passive skills provide a buff to the Star Superconductor.

Alyosha—a hunter from Snowland and the owner of the Laika dog Tugarin. He can summon Tugarin to distract enemies, as well as heal allies and apply the “Stellar Superconductor” reaction buff to all allies.

Cryo Traveler—When traveling to a new country, the protagonist gains an element associated with that country. The Cryo Traveler possesses Cryo Infusion and can summon a creature to attack from outside the battlefield.

In addition to Odette’s and the Traveler’s signature weapons, new gear will be available in the Battle Pass and from Black Snow the Blacksmith.
