Riot Games has announced the end of the current League Classic cycle—a League of Legends mode that lets players revisit older versions of champions and other game elements from years past. It will remain available until the end of Season 3, and will be disabled in January 2027.
According to the developers, most players have already returned to other modes. Due to long match queues and a wide range of skill levels, starting with Patch 26.21, access to Classic in several regions—including Russia—will be restricted to specific hours: on weekdays from 4:00 PM to midnight, and on weekends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 AM server time. Custom matches will remain available around the clock. In Japan and the MENA region, these will be the only way to play Classic.
Act 2 Pass rewards will be made free, and refunds will be issued for content that is no longer available. At the same time, Riot plans to bring Classic back in the future—most likely as a limited-time event featuring changes and new features.
League Classic launched on July 29, 2026. The mode brought back an early version of “Summoner’s Rift,” along with old champion abilities, items, runes, and masteries. The developers based the mode on Season 3, supplementing it with elements from other periods of the game.
