On the night of October 14, Valve added a new character to Deadlock—Dead Danny—one of the six heroes announced in the “Sleepless City” update. Find all the information about him in Russian in our article.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to let you in on a shocking secret: at Fairfax Industries, we know absolutely nothing about safety. But let me tell you something even more shocking… It’s for the best! During my time working here, I’ve been shot, stabbed, impaled, thrown out of windows, blown up, split into atoms, and beheaded—and not just once, not twice, not three times, but an infinite number of times. Yes, yes, my head has been chopped off so many times that I had to invent a new word just to keep track.
But I willingly went through this hell—figuratively, and sometimes quite literally—because it’s not enough to simply imagine how everything is going wrong; you have to know it for sure.
The demonstration you are about to see involves tremendous risk. So make yourselves comfortable, put on your safety goggles, and witness the miracle of flight presented by Fairfax Industries and the Chimera Mark 1.”

Hero’s weapon — Chimera Peace Bringer. Base rate of fire is 4 shots per second; damage per second (excluding reload time) is 48. The magazine holds 14 rounds; reload time is 3.20 seconds.
Fire a volley of energy missiles that strike the ground in a straight line. The missiles explode after a delay or upon detecting an enemy, dealing spectral damage and marking the target.
Firing a charged shot at a marked enemy consumes the mark, dealing additional spirit damage and applying a fading explosive spell.
Hold and drag to select an angle.
Hold the jump/ascend button to take off and build up heat. When you reach maximum heat, your jetpack will begin to overheat.
Overheat: After a brief delay, you plummet downward. Upon hitting the ground, an explosion occurs that deals damage and knocks you and nearby enemies into the air. If you don’t hit any heroes, you’ll stun yourself. Press the second ability key to begin your descent early.
Cooling Down: After overheating, the jetpack cannot be used until it has fully cooled down.
Slow effects affect you while you’re in the air. You always explode upon death.
Spray fuel, dealing gradual weapon damage and reducing bullet resistance, creating a massive backblast that deals spirit damage and knocks you backward.
Drops a jetpack when damage is dealt.
Grab your opponent and show them the full power of the move: soar high into the air, then crash down hard onto the ground.
Both you and your opponent take sustained spiritual damage during the fall and upon impact with the ground. Damage against enemies with health below 50% is increased.
On September 29, Valve announced six new heroes in Deadlock, which will be added to the game based on the results of a vote. The developers have also revamped the in-game HUD, voice acting, markers, and user settings.
