On October 6, Overwatch kicked off its new season, “A Grim Doctrine,” featuring the new hero Dogmat, a new map, a Battle Pass, and reworks for Sombra and Roadhog.
The main new addition this season is the new support hero, Dogmat. The hero’s core mechanic is that he can enhance all of his basic abilities and attacks using his “Saturation” ability, granting them new effects, while his ultimate reduces the maximum health of enemies within a radius.

With the new season, Sombra has become a support hero—she can no longer hack enemies; this ability now heals allies, and “Virus” has been replaced with “Cyberspace”: the character fires a projectile that weakens enemies and heals allies.
Turbo Pig’s alternate attack has been significantly reworked. Now, when activated, the hero absorbs all projectiles in front of her and then fires a ball of scrap metal at enemies.
The update also introduces a new map in “Escort” mode. The map is an observation post that has been converted into a prison for dangerous criminals. This is where Dogma was held captive.

With the start of the season, a new Battle Pass featuring Halloween-themed bundles is now available. In addition, players can now purchase and level up previous Battle Passes.

Season A: A Grim Doctrine will run from October 6 through December 8 of this year. When it ends, the current competitive season will also come to a close.
