Dont on RAKUZAN’s MLBB roster: “We’re not even thinking about organizations right now.”
RAKUZAN goldlaner Vadim “Dont” Dolgushin spoke in an interview at the MLBB Continental Championships Season 8 about his team’s morale and challenges, reflected on recruiting new players and finding an organization, and assessed the current meta.
On the atmosphere at RAKUZAN
The mood is fine. Of course, there are misunderstandings, but that’s what a team is all about. So, misunderstandings within the team are normal—they get worked out. As for the start of the season… We wanted to get off to a better start—at least on the first day, for sure—but we couldn’t quite beat [Level UP]. So, we are where we are.
On the Team’s Problems
Let the team’s internal issues stay within the team, and as for the gameplay issues—it’s simply a matter of changing our strategy and preparing for that strategy. In other words, we’re currently preparing to play according to it. So, if things don’t go according to plan, the strategy falls apart and doesn’t work out.
On recruiting new players and finding an organization
There aren’t any [candidates] at all. In other words, we’re still looking. First, we need to show [results]. Our primary goal is to qualify [for the M8 World Championship]. So, we’re not even thinking about organizations right now. Yes, it’s unpleasant and inconvenient, but what can you do?
On the current meta
Overall, the meta has only changed in terms of heroes. Heroes like Cloud and Moskov aren’t being played as much anymore—that is, they’re only picked in specific roles. Clint and Brody have emerged, and there’s an overpowered Melissa—if you pick her, you’ve already won 50% of the game. Actually, it’s not very fun [to play] because you have to go for “flick” on some heroes, and all those Barts, Atlases, and Beleriks are really annoying. I like the meta. I’m really looking forward to when they buff Obsidian, because they’re planning to release a skin for her, <...> I’m practicing with her.
Earlier, RAKUZAN defeated Aurevia Team 2–1 in a match on the third day of the MLBB Continental Championships Season 8. Team Dont is currently in third place in the tournament’s regular season with six points.
