Maniak: “We’ll make up for it. Moving forward, I think we’ll keep the same roster and continue playing.”

FORZE Esports analyst Stepan “Maniak” Mikhailov discussed the advantages of the first pick during drafts and summarized the team’s performance at the tournament in a post-match interview during the MLBB Continental Championships Season 7.
On the team’s performance at the MCC
I don’t know, it’s hard to say right away. I don’t remember much—mostly just the mistakes, which are exactly what we need to work on, and as it turns out, there are still quite a few of them. So I don’t know—we were hoping the playoffs would go well, but we fell a little short; there were some misplays. We’ll work on improving. Moving forward, I think we’ll keep the same roster and keep playing. We have young players on the team, and I think everything will work out. We just lacked a little chemistry.
On the desire to form a coaching staff
I’d really like to, actually. It’s really tough—literally in the breaks between games, we have to think of everything and do it ourselves. It’s a bit stressful. On the one hand, you understand better what you want to do, what you want to pick, and what you want to ban; on the other hand, it takes up so much time that you can’t focus on everything at once, so to speak. So a coaching staff wouldn’t hurt at all.
On the importance of the first pick in drafts
Not really, actually. On this map, we knew exactly what we were going to do and what we were going to pick—we just… I don’t know how to put it—we just messed things up for ourselves, blew our chances at the start, and that was it. Yeah, maybe it’s a little easier with the first pick, but it’s not a sure thing.
FORZE Esports lost their match against Virtus.pro in the upper bracket quarterfinals of the MLBB Continental Championships Season 7 playoffs with a score of 2-3 and finished the tournament in 5th-6th place. Maniak’s team received a $3,000 prize for their performance at the MCC.
