Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Test Server Update as of August 14, 2026: Aldos Rebalance and Buffs for Alpha and San

Victor Kolosov
Official Art of Aldos

On August 14, the developers of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang released an update for the mobile MOBA’s test server, which included hero rebalancing for Aldos, Alpha, Lucas, and Melissa, as well as the addition of new maps to the “Map Battle” mode.

Hero Changes

The symbols (↑) (↓) (~) indicate buffs, nerfs, and changes, respectively.

Heroes with significant changes: Aldos (↓), Alpha (↑), Chichi (↑), and San (↑).

Since the hero changes involve updates to ability effects, the corresponding skins are still being optimized. The following skin is temporarily unavailable: Angela’s Spring Elf.

Aldos (↓)

Aldos was accumulating charges too quickly after the change to his first ability, which allowed him to gain charges by hitting enemy heroes. To achieve balance, we have adjusted the number of charges gained per hit and the damage per charge.

After moving the movement speed boost from his second ability to his first, Aldos lost the ability to retreat from team fights. To address this, we added the movement speed boost to his passive ability, while slightly reducing his shield’s durability in the early game.

Passive Ability (~)

  • Base shield durability: 500 >> 350;
  • New effect added: Upon acquiring a shield, Aldos gains a 60% movement speed bonus for 1 second.

Ability 1 (↓)

  • Charges gained for killing siege minions/other non-hero units: 10/4 >> 15/6;
  • Charges gained for hitting/killing an enemy hero: 4/10 >> 6/15;
  • Charges gained for nearby allies killing siege minions or other non-hero units: 5/2 >> 7/3;
  • Maximum number of charges: 650 >> 1,000;
  • Bonus damage per charge: 5 >> 3.

Alpha (↑)

Alpha’s power on the lane during the early game was relatively low, so we adjusted his passive ability to scale with total physical attack and improved its effectiveness in the early and mid-game. We’ve also optimized the healing mechanics of his second ability by increasing the base health restored per hit and reducing the bonus health restored per hit, which improves his survivability when attacking a single target.

Passive Skill (↑)

  • Laser Damage: 80 (+80% bonus physical attack) (+8 × hero level) >> 50 (+50% total physical attack) (+8 × hero level);
  • Base Physical Defense: 23 >> 21.

Skill 2 (↑)

  • Effect change: Restores health for each enemy hit >> Restores health upon hitting an enemy (healing decreases when hitting subsequent enemies);
  • Health restored per hit: 40–200 (+30% bonus physical attack) >> 80–330 (+40% bonus physical attack);
  • Healing reduction: 40%.

Atlas (↓)

The movement speed bonus from Atlas’s second ability was too high, giving him excessive potential for surprise attacks. We’ve slightly reduced the bonus to balance the hero’s potential for chasing and initiating fights.

Skill 2 (↓)

  • Movement Speed Increase: 40% >> 25%.

Bruno (↓)

Skill 1 (↓)

  • Base Damage: 100–225 >> 100–200.

Chichi (↑)

Passive Skill (↑)

  • Spell vamp per charge: 0.75% >> 1.25%.

Kagura (~)

Slightly reduced the maximum range of Seimei’s umbrella to make it easier for Kagura to pick it up while moving.

Passive Skill (~)

  • Maximum range of Seimei’s umbrella: 8.7 >> 8.

Kalea (↑)

When Kalea’s enhanced basic attack was interrupted, her combo would be completely broken, which significantly affected the flow of combat. To address this issue, we’ve increased the interruption resistance of her passive ability.

Passive Skill (↑)

  • The third basic attack of her passive ability will still trigger while Kalea is under crowd control effects.

Lucas (~)

After analyzing Lucas’s recent changes, we have reverted some adjustments that are no longer necessary.

Stats (↓)

  • Base Health: 2,620 >> 2,550.

Ability 1 (↑)

  • Physical Attack Bonus: 40% >> 45%.

Skill 3 (↑)

  • Stat Boost: 15% >> 15%–20%.

Melissa (↓)

Melissa’s Attack Speed bonus and the duration of her first skill were excessive, so we’ve slightly reduced them to balance her damage.

Skill 1 (↓)

  • Attack Speed Bonus: 50%–75% >> 30%–55%.
  • Duration: 3 seconds >> 2.5 seconds.

Mia (↓)

Mia’s damage in team fights and her farming speed in the current patch have exceeded expectations. We noticed that attacks made while using her first ability deal the same damage as her basic attack and inherit 100% of the attack’s effects. This deviates from our original design intent. We’ve made adjustments to bring her performance in line with our expectations.

Skill 1 (↓)

  • Damage: 30 (+25% of total physical attack) >> 9 (+7.5% of total physical attack);
  • Attack Effect Amount: 100% >> 7.5%.

Updated Popol and Kupa (↓)

The updated Popol was clearing the jungle too quickly and dealing an absurd amount of skill damage in the mid- and late-game, so we’ve slightly nerfed the hero and his companion.

Passive Ability (↓)

  • Kupa’s damage to creeps: 200% >> 150%.

Ability 1 (↓)

  • Spear damage: 80–170 (+75% of total physical attack) >> 80–125 (+70% of total physical attack);
  • Bite damage: 80–170 (+75% of total physical attack) >> 80–125 (+70% of total physical attack);
  • Increased Damage (Alpha Wolf Form): 120–255 (+150% of total physical attack) >> 120–240 (+140% of total physical attack).

San (↑)

Following last week’s adjustments, San’s effectiveness on the lanes has improved, but the character remains weak. We’ve decided to buff him.

Skill 3 (↑)

  • Base Damage: 270–320 >> 355–430;
  • Slow effect: 20% >> 25%.

Skill 4 (↑)

  • Damage dealt by the clone: 70%–80% >> 70%–90%.

Skills 1 and 2 (↑)

  • Damage taken by the clone: 170% >> 150%;
  • Damage taken by the clone: 125% >> 120%.

Upgrades

  • Gold reward for killing a clone: 26 (+ 1.5 × game time in minutes) >> 10 (+ 1 × game time in minutes).

Lee Sung-shin (↓)

Li Sung-shin’s overall mobility was too high, so we increased the cooldown of his first ability to limit the frequency of his dashes.

Skill 1 (↓)

  • Cooldown: 12–7 seconds >> 12–9 seconds.

Battlefield Changes

Simplification of Hero Skill Descriptions

To shorten the length of hero skill descriptions and improve readability, we’ve replaced some commonly used terms (“attack,” “defense,” and “maximum health”) with simple, intuitive icons.

System Changes

Hero Training

The new hero training system is now available! Select a hero to train, take advantage of training perks, and earn rewards!

Go to “Season” >> “Hero Training” to check it out!

  • The system will recommend heroes for training based on your preferences;
  • Select a hero to train to take advantage of perks such as free trial skins and Star Protection;
  • Complete Hero Training quests to earn even more rewards.

Seasonal Achievements

Rewards for carried-over seasonal achievements have been expanded. Name cards, style plates, and loading screens earned in the previous season can now be carried over to the current one. Icons have been added to display carried-over rewards.

Game Mode Changes

Map Battle Mode

Thank you for your support! In this test update, we’ve added several maps to the mode and adjusted the overall match pace.

The following maps were added this week. Give them a try in this mode!

  • Not Ready Yet: Automatically begins to regenerate health when health is low. Dealing damage during this time extends the cooldown;
  • Growing Resolve: After using an ability, your next basic attack grants additional health regeneration and hybrid defense (up to three charges);
  • Magic Hat: Replaces your “Flash” with “Magic Hat.” This ability allows you to make a short dash forward and gain a movement speed bonus. Activate the spell again to return to your original position;
  • Charged Flash: Reduces the cooldown of “Flash” and grants 3 ability charges;
  • Heroic Charge: After using a mobility ability, you gain a shield (stacks up to three times);
  • Awakening of Agony: Reduces the cooldown of all abilities after taking a certain amount of damage;
  • Vengeful Strike: You gain 1 Vengeance charge after taking a certain amount of damage (up to 5 charges). Your next basic attack consumes all Vengeance charges, deals bonus damage, and restores health;
  • Unstoppable: You gain a permanent icy aura that applies a stacking slow effect to enemies within its range. Applying crowd control effects to enemies within the aura’s radius will add several stacks of the slow effect;
  • Risk Assessment: After dealing damage to a single target multiple times in a short period, you gain a significant increase in movement speed;
  • Timely Rescue: When healing an allied hero with low health, grants them an additional shield;
  • Come With Me: Applying crowd control abilities to enemies grants a shield and increased movement speed to yourself and the nearest allied hero;
  • Chain Lightning: The hero’s basic attacks have a chance to trigger Chain Lightning, which deals additional damage to multiple enemies;
  • Iron Defense: Increases hybrid defense when taking damage;
  • Catch Me If You Can: Deals bonus damage to units with lower movement speed. Scales based on the difference in movement speed;
  • Practice Makes Perfect: You gain an additional adaptive attack when using abilities.

Adjustments

  • Growth: Reduces the amount of gold and experience gained from killing minions and heroes. Increases passive growth and compensates for the difference in level and gold caused by deaths.

New Mechanics

Permanent Control Immunity: To address the overuse of crowd control abilities in matches, heroes will automatically remove all crowd control effects from themselves and gain temporary immunity to crowd control once a certain meter is filled within a short period of time.

Updated Survival Mode

  • Optimized background image resources and visual effects for certain monsters;
  • Optimized the visual effects of research coins dropped based on their quantity;
  • Players will continuously regenerate health after they stop taking damage for a certain period of time;
  • Each kill or assist on an enemy hero reduces the current cooldowns of all skills;
  • Players and bosses will drop 3 health orbs upon death. Pick them up to restore a certain amount of health.
