Team Liquid’s new sniper, Georgi “Jorko” Mitev, spoke in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 about how he started playing Counter-Strike and thanked the team for the opportunity.
When I was 12 or 13 years old, I was already aspiring to become an esports player one day. I grew up watching players like shroud, kennyS, and s1mple compete.
I first played CS when I was 6 years old, since my dad loved the game too. I played with him and with friends. I’m very lucky, and I’m happy to have parents who support me—not just my dad, but also my mom, grandma, and grandpa. I’m very grateful for that.
Online matches are convenient because you’re at home, in your own environment, playing on your own devices and in your own chair. It’s comfortable.
Of course, it’s all a bit nerve-wracking. Team Liquid believed in me, so I want to consistently perform at a high level. I’m trying to do everything I can.
Right now, Team Liquid is playing against Team Spirit in the quarterfinals of the BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 playoffs. Currently, the “Dragons” are in the lead, having closed out the first map, Dust2, with a score of 13-7.
