alex on s1zzi: “I definitely see him as one of the best Ukrainian esports players of the future.”

Alexey “alex” Yarmoshchuk, captain of the B8 Esports CS2 roster, spoke in an interview at the XSE Pro League 2026 about the challenges they faced during their match against Lynn Vision Gaming, shared his thoughts on the prospects of his teammate Daniil “s1zzi” Vinnik, and reflected on the team’s success at the event.
On the challenges in the match against Lynn Vision Gaming
When you play a map for the first time at a tournament, things can easily go off track—and that’s exactly what happened on Dust2. The team made a lot of mistakes. We gained the upper hand thanks to s1zzi’s clutch play in the pistol round, but we lost our focus during the opponent’s force buy. After that, the match became really tough, and we had to fight through overtime.
On s1zzi’s development and future
Yes, of course, he’s improving incredibly fast, and everyone on the team notices these changes. You can see him getting stronger at literally every subsequent tournament. That clutch play was pretty straightforward for him, I’d say. I definitely see him as one of the best Ukrainian esports players in the future; he just needs to keep working hard and consistently.
On the team’s prospects at the event
I think we’re in pretty good shape right now, and the team has every chance of doing well at this tournament. For some reason, we’ve had our weakest win rate on our two best maps, Ancient and Mirage. I don’t even know how that happened, but we’ll do our best to turn things around. We just need to stop worrying about the future and take it one match at a time. Maybe that will help us gather our strength, gain confidence, and lead the team to victory.
Today, B8 Esports defeated Lynn Vision Gaming in the group stage of the XSE Pro League 2026 in a best-of-3 series with a 2-0 map score. Now, Alexey “alex” Yarmoshchuk’s team has an overall record of 2–2 in the tournament.
