Ax1Le: “I’m very happy about the win over Team Spirit.”
Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov, a rifler for 1w Team, spoke in an interview at ESL Pro League Season 24 following the victory over Team Spirit, reflected on the rout of the “Dragons” on Cache, and assessed Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov in the previous match.
On the victory over Team Spirit
I’m very happy about the victory over Team Spirit. Right now, it’s very important for us to beat teams like this to gain confidence in our abilities and earn VRS points. <...> Thanks to the fans for their support.
On the rout on Cache
On Cache, we managed to identify Spirit’s weaknesses right from the start. We all understood our roles and felt very confident. Everything went perfectly; I’m pleased with our performance.
On nafany’s performance
For me, nafany is the MVP of this match. When the captain plays well and puts up solid stats, he gains a boost of confidence, starts communicating more, and better understands the situation on the map. This benefits the entire team.
Yesterday, 1w Team defeated Team Spirit in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 24 with a 2-0 map score (13-5 on Cache and 13-9 on Anubis). Thanks to this victory, Ax1Le’s team advanced to the tournament’s playoffs.
