BIG sniper Gleb “gr1ks” Gazin, in an interview with Vladislav “stariy_bog” Levents at 1win Private Club #2, discussed the victory over PRIVATE on the Mirage map and also talked about his team’s current roster and their preparation for this tournament.
We wanted to just play the default strategy—aggress the mid, then play passively and simply adapt to how they were playing, but I did a little more than was necessary. Then we fought back, the half ended normally, and that was it. It was much easier for us to play as Terrorists.
The guys are really good at helping each other handle pressure. tabseN is experienced, JDC makes a lot of clutch plays and has a great feel for the game—he understands what’s needed—and so does blameF. ...> In the mid-round, everyone contributes a lot, and that’s what builds the game.
We prepared by practicing every day for two weeks. I think the most dangerous team is us—because we can lose the game to ourselves. We have a [ready] pool of strategies; everything’s good, and we’ve practiced it all. We just need to handle any pressure that comes up in the moment and just play our game. We can easily take the championship. I’m confident in us because we had very good preparation for the championship.
Yesterday, BIG defeated PRIVATE in the first round of 1win Private Club #2 with a 2-0 map score (13-5 on Cache and 13-10 on Mirage). Today, gr1ks will face off against The MongolZ for a spot in the upper bracket final.
