Outfit 49 has disbanded

Esports player and co-owner of the North American team Outfit 49, George Rakkno, announced on social media platform X that the club is disbanding, and its roster and staff will move to a new organization.
Outfit 49 is disbanding.
Last year, I had the idea to start an esports team. That decision was the most significant and inspiring one I’ve ever made. During this time, I’ve met so many amazing people and experienced so many things that it feels like I’ve lived several lifetimes. I never thought I could get so passionate about something and put so much effort into it.
Despite all the stress, financial difficulties, and daily internal challenges we had to go through, I wouldn’t change a single minute of this journey. I truly love doing this.
I really hope that each of you—whether you were part of the organization or simply watched our matches—was able to take something positive away from what we built together. This brand meant everything to us.
But this isn’t the end. In fact, the end of O49 is just the beginning...
We’ve been acquired by a new organization that’s preparing to make its debut on the Counter-Strike scene. For the players and staff who will continue this journey with the new organization, the future looks brighter than ever. And not just for us, but for the entire Canadian CS scene and the region as a whole.
We’ll announce exactly who will be the new face on the scene this weekend, when the transition officially takes place. We can’t wait to get to work.
To everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you. From me personally, from our entire staff, and from our players: none of this would have been possible without you. Thank you for being with us.
Outfit 49 has recently participated in many tournaments. Specifically, the team competed in ESL Challenger League Season 51: North America - Cup #3, Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #7, and was also invited to the closed qualifiers for PGL Astana 2026.
