tory on apEX: “He’s a true captain and leader—an icon, I think.”

Clutchain Female rifler Victoria “tory” Kazieva appeared on a podcast on Artem “malik” Arkhipov’s YouTube channel, where she discussed the prospects for women in the pro scene, talked about her transition to Valorant, and named the best captain in Counter-Strike.
On the prospects for women’s esports
I don’t believe anything will make a comeback. I just wouldn’t advise wasting time on something where, well, you don’t know what’s going to happen next. Women’s esports is exactly like that right now. You just don’t know what’s going to happen. You could end up wasting your time—playing for two or three years without achieving anything. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, because, damn it, you’ve got to focus on what you’re confident in.
On the transition to Valorant
We had a break when we didn’t have any tournaments. That was during the Nigma Galaxy period. And we switched to Valorant, by the way. We trained there for about a month and a half, and after a month and a half, they announced the ESL Impact tournament series, so we went back to CS. Valorant is *** [crap]; I didn’t like it.
On the best captain on the pro scene
[It’s] apEX. FalleN... Well, he’s still a long way from apEX, I think, as a captain. I guess we see apEX more as a personality, for example. The way he fires up his teams with his speeches—that’s something I really like. He’s a true captain and leader, an icon, I think. [He’s the best] captain, in my opinion.
Earlier in the podcast, Victoria “tory” Kazieva discussed the development of the women’s pro scene in Counter-Strike 2, explained the reasons behind her career hiatus, and shared her thoughts on playing on a men’s team.
