Primal Beast is this week’s top offlaner, having increased his win rate by 3.5% in one go. The hero wasn’t directly changed in Patch 7.41f, so he continues to perform well in the third position thanks to his high survivability, mobility, and ability to quickly initiate fights. His Onslaught allows him to dive into fights, Pulverize provides powerful area-of-effect crowd control, and Uproar stacks damage and armor. He holds his own equally well against most heroes in the lane and remains useful throughout all stages of the game.
Quick Build:
Enigma is the strongest summoner and hard carry in Dota 2’s current meta. He can hit every creep, push past towers, force out the enemy carry, and single-handedly push the enemy jungle. His Eidolons farm quickly and destroy towers, and Black Hole in the late game can turn any match on its head. Even several nerfs in 7.41f—reducing the attack range of his Eidolons and the pull speed of Black Hole with Aghanim’s Scepter—didn’t knock him out of the meta. Enigma remains one of the most fearsome offlaners in team fights.
Quick Build:
Doom is a classic third-position hero. His strengths are as old as time: the ability to level up quickly with Devour and an ultimate ability capable of taking a key opponent out of the fight for a long time. The hero wasn’t directly changed in Patch 7.41f, so he still levels up quickly with Aghanim’s Shard. All it takes is to kill the Big Black Dragon and get the 100% splash. Doom remains one of the best mid-lane picks for players who like to push the map and control the pace of the game.
Quick Build:
Beastmaster ended the week following the patch release with a 1.3% increase in win rate. The hero received no direct changes in 7.41f and retains his core strengths as a top-tier “triple-lane” hero: strong lane control, the ability to farm quickly, and the capacity to apply pressure on opponents through aggressive split-pushing. His boar and hawk provide vision and control, while Wild Axes allow him to harass enemies on the lane. In the mid-game, Beastmaster becomes an excellent initiator thanks to Primal Roar, and his pets—which later turn into a veritable zoo—help him take down towers.
Quick Build:
Dark Seer is a classic offlaner and an excellent choice to pair with a melee core. He’s particularly effective against stat-based carry-hunters like Phantom Lancer, Luna, or Medusa, but even against other heroes, nothing stops him from reaching the top of the farm leaderboard thanks to his shields. Ion Shell allows him to push lanes effectively, while Surge provides mobility. In team fights, Dark Seer shines thanks to Vacuum and Wall of Replica, which can completely turn the tide of a team fight.
Quick Build:
Largo is one of the most interesting offlaners in the current meta. In previous patches, the hero was significantly nerfed due to Aghanim’s Scepter, so pros are now building him differently: with Meteor Hammer or Kaya and Sange plus Octarine Core. Meteor Hammer costs only 2,850 gold, provides plenty of mana and regeneration, and helps take down a tower in the late game, while its damage is further increased by Croak of Genius. Kaya and Sange provides 350 health, a 16% healing boost, and a 25% reduction in mana cost, remaining effective throughout all stages of the game. The Octarine Core, with its 450 health and mana, six mana regeneration, and cooldown reduction, allows Largo to cast the strongest buff on himself and an ally before a fight with virtually no delay.
Quick Build:

If you’re just starting to learn this challenging lane, don’t jump straight into Enigma or Dark Seer. Start with heroes that are forgiving of mistakes, have simple mechanics, and don’t require perfect positioning.
Pudge is one of the most popular heroes in the game, and in the third position, he boasts one of the highest win rates—55%. The hero received no changes in 7.41f, and his high health pool and crowd control allow him to play confidently on the front lines. Meat Hook isn’t just an initiation tool—it’s also a lifesaver for allies—and Rot deals sustained damage to enemies around him. With Aghanim’s Shard, Pudge can devour enemies, and with Aghanim’s Scepter, he becomes even more resilient. He’s a great choice even for beginners because he doesn’t require complex combos—you just need to cast Hook at the right time or have a Blink Dagger if you miss.
Quick Build:
Dawnbreaker is this week’s top offlaner in terms of win rate growth among “basic” heroes. She gained 2.3% and reached a 52.6% overall win rate among players. The hero received no changes in 7.41f, but remains a strong choice for the third position thanks to her high survivability and the ability to quickly join fights from virtually anywhere on the map using Solar Guardian. Her Starbreaker stuns and deals area-of-effect damage, while Celestial Hammer provides mobility and harassment. Dawnbreaker is forgiving of many mistakes and is excellent for learning how to initiate.
Quick Build:
Axe is a timeless classic for beginners on a difficult lane. The hero received no changes in 7.41f, but performs well against opponents with high physical damage output. The combination of high survivability and Berserker’s Call allows Axe to act as a full-fledged initiator and start fights on his own terms. Counter Helix deals pure damage that ignores armor, while Culling Blade finishes off enemies with low health. Axe is easy to play and doesn’t require complex micro—the key is learning to use Blink Dagger for surprise initiations.
Quick Build:
Centaur Warrunner is a hero for those who want to literally take it easy in the third lane. You don’t even need to buy boots for him, since he has a natural run speed bonus from Strength. He didn’t receive any major changes in 7.41f, aside from a slight reduction in base damage and movement speed. The build featuring the Helm of the Dominator and Heart of Tarrasque is currently very strong: the hero levels up alongside the creeps and becomes practically unkillable. The Blink Dagger is needed for initiating, and Stampede provides the team with mobility and a safety net. He’s easy to play and is perfect for beginners who want to play a tank.
Quick Build:
Underlord is another straightforward hero for the third position. Even after the nerf to Aghanim’s Scepter in 7.41f, he remains strong: players skip auras in favor of a quick Aghanim’s Scepter, followed by Gleipnir or Shiva’s Guard. Firestorm deals area-of-effect damage and helps with farming, Pit of Malice controls enemies, and Fiend’s Gate allows him to quickly join any fight and apply pressure. Underlord doesn’t require complex mechanics—you just need to place Pit of Malice at the right time and use the gate to move around.
Quick Build:
Dragon Knight in the third position is an unconventional but highly effective pick. The mid-lane version of this hero also performs exceptionally well in the hard lane: he’s hard to break through, his ultimate always takes down a tower, he has a reliable area-of-effect stun, and he boasts plenty of survivability throughout the game. If you find yourself on the off-lane because of the draft or simply want a tank that pressures structures, Dragon Knight is an excellent choice. He doesn’t require complex mechanics: just use Dragon Tail at the right time and keep the enemy tower under the poison effect after activating his ultimate.
