Abed on his career: “I don’t know what’s next yet. I’m just playing.”
Professional player Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop, in an interview following the victory over Team Resilience in the Dota 2 Future Games 2026 playoffs, spoke about the strength of the South American region, his choice of Storm Spirit in the series, communication within PlayTime’s international roster, and shared his thoughts on his future in the professional scene.
On the Strength of South America
In my opinion, everything’s fine. I wouldn’t say this region is weak. Maybe the public matches there aren’t the best, but the players themselves are good. The guys play great, so I definitely don’t consider them weak.
On playing Storm Spirit
Well, I’ve been playing Storm Spirit since the very start of my Dota 2 career. Back in the day, SumaiL really inspired me at TI 2015. So today’s decision is probably a choice Luan and I made together.
On the difference in approaches between Luan and BuLba
I think the main difference is that Luan focuses more on drafts, while BuLba emphasizes the actual gameplay—macro, map movement, and things like that.
On my preferred opponent in the final
To be honest, I don’t really care who I play against. I don’t pay much attention to the bracket. But Wits said he wants to play against the Yakult Brothers.
On atmosphere and communication
We’re really getting better with every match. I remember on the first day of scrims, we lost eight games in a row. Now here’s how it works: Wits calls all the plays right in the middle of the game. So he’s carrying the team not just in the game itself.
[So he’s the one calling?]
Everyone chips in a little, but Jabz and I can’t communicate directly with the supports, so Wits acts as our bridge and translates everything. …> We didn’t play any more scrims. We just played public games, discussed matches and drafts… Basically, we’re enjoying the process and trust each other. It’s really nice to play in this kind of atmosphere.
On the Future
I don’t know yet what’s next. I’m just playing. [But do you want to continue your career?] Yes, of course.
