Bkop: “What’s going on with the North American servers in Dota 2? Almost all of my recent games have been me and nine other Russians.”

Commentator Benjamin “Bkop” Kopilow noted on X that almost all of his recent games on the North American Dota 2 servers have featured Russian-speaking players and often turn into one-sided matches.
What’s going on with the North American servers in Dota 2? Almost all of my recent games have been just me and nine other Russian players. What’s causing this? What’s more, the matches are completely one-sided: today, my mid laner playing Silencer finished the game with a 3/22 [kills/deaths—Ed.] score, simply teleporting back to mid and dying over and over again.
Previously, the Dota 2 developers restricted viewing of matches with high MMR through the friends list and the “Watch” tab. This feature was used for automated data collection on professional players’ matches.
