Team Spirit manager Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov answered questions during a Twitch stream about whether Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk switch roles, why Team Empire fell apart, and also shared his thoughts on Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek as a coach. A clip from the stream was posted on the LEGENDWP channel.
[Question: Will Ilya always be the carry?] Why would he need to change roles? He’s the carry. That’s a strange question. Will Ilya always be the carry? Well, probably. Well, maybe someday he’ll switch to a different role, like many core players do, but that’ll be closer to the end of his career.
Because Team Empire’s best players were sold off. And overall, there were no sponsors. The main investor left—I guess you could call it that. And that was it—no money, no team. That’s the specific reason, if we’re talking about it concretely. But if we look at the bigger picture, all the key assets were sold off. Of course, mistakes were made, but where are there no mistakes? Overall, that’s the main reason.
[Question: What do you think of TORONTOTOKYO as a coach?] I don’t know yet. He’s only been the coach for a month. You can’t blame Toronto for not making it to BLAST because there wasn’t enough time, and their roster had obviously weakened. We need to look a little longer, a little further ahead.
Earlier, Korb3n mentioned that Alan “Satanic” Galliamov could replace Yatoro if he left after The International 2026, and also commented on Mark “mangekyou” Kharlamov’s play for Yellow Submarine and Denis “Larl” Sigitov’s reluctance to play in streamer tournaments.
