Team Spirit midlaner Denis “Larl” Sigitov spoke in an interview at BLAST SLAM VIII about how he spent his vacation after The International 2026, and also shared his thoughts on working with offlaner Bogdan “Batyuk” Batyuk and coach Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev.
It was a month off—you do whatever you want, and then you get back to work, back to Dota. I watched some matches from Tier 2 and Tier 3 tournaments, but otherwise I tried to just enjoy life more.
[Question: You’re now one of the team’s veterans. What do you think of the newcomer, Batyuk? What’s he like off the field?]
Of course, he’s a good player. So I guess I’m already old, but new players are always a good thing. They bring more energy, a different playing style, and a different mindset.
He’s a meme guy, I guess. Fun-loving. Not a clown, just fun-loving. He likes to farm—a classic offlaner: more farming, more networth, all those basic things.
We’ll have to wait and see—he’ll prove himself yet. Even I don’t know what kind of person he is yet: before this, I’d only played with him once, when he was a stand-in. Now we’re playing together more. I think not me can tell you more about him.
He has his own ideas. I’d say he tries not to copy other people’s ideas and instead picks heroes for us that we want to play. At the same time, he has his own ideas, and he shares his thoughts during discussions.
Right now, I think things are going pretty well. We’re having good drafts. But we’ve only been working together for a month, so I haven’t had much time yet to figure out what kind of coach he is.
Team Spirit took second place in their first tournament with Batyuk and Illidan, losing to Team Yandex 1–3 in the final. However, the Russian coach was unable to make it to the LAN stage venue—Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara was with the team instead.
