Mo13ei on ATF at Team Yandex: “If they follow his instructions, I’m confident they’ll succeed.”
Professional player Fabian “Mo13ei” Knör spoke in an interview at PGL Wallachia Season 9 about his return to the pro scene and the current meta, and also assessed the new rosters for Team Yandex and Conventus Stellarum.
On returning to professional competition
I’m really excited. It’s been a while, and now the time has come. We’ve had some good practices so far; everything’s going pretty well. I like the team—everyone’s very friendly. It’s nice to be here.
On what sets apart teams that perform well from the start from those that need time
I think it comes down to how open everyone is, and then—their willingness to work together and communicate a lot. We’ve talked a lot with our coach, Arthur, and we basically talk all day long. I think that plays a big role. Maybe confidence in the champions is also important. Sometimes it can be easy, and sometimes it’s hard, but if you try to keep it simple, it might work out.
On the current meta
I think this meta suits me. I managed to climb to an incredibly high rank—the highest of my entire career—precisely in this meta. I like the champions that are currently being picked a lot. I don’t play every hero in the meta, but I don’t think that’s necessary. As long as you have enough heroes in your pool, you’ll be fine.
I like that in mid lane you can now play both melee and ranged heroes; very aggressively, yet with good scaling. It wasn’t always like that before, but now it is, and I think this suits me better than either of the two styles—either just diving into fights or just farming.
About Conventus Stellarum
The big surprise is the new Nigma. Well, it’s not really Nigma anymore—I mean the roster with OmaR and lorenof. They have new players. It seems they even have a different carry, but he couldn’t make it to the tournament. Now they have DM in the offlane—it sounds like a really strong lineup.
About Team Yandex’s new roster
This is very interesting. But I’m not sure, since ATF is very “greedy.”

And they’re adding ATF to the mix. I’m sure they think everything will work out. And I’m convinced it will, too. ATF can gel with any team. If they follow his instructions, I’m sure they’ll succeed.
Right now, Team Nemesis is playing the decisive map of their elimination match against Conventus Stellarum. The winner will advance to the playoffs, while the loser will exit PGL Wallachia Season 9, finishing in 9th–11th place, which comes with a $20,000 prize.
