RAMZES: “There haven’t been caps in Dota 2 for a long time. There are just drafters, and that’s it.”

Former pro player Roman “RAMZES” Kushnarev said during a live stream on Twitch that there are no longer traditional captains on the modern Dota 2 pro scene.
There are no captains in Dota now—that’s the first thing. It’s not like 2015 anymore, when in Dota, the captain would pick your heroes and tell you exactly what to do. The “cap” meta is long gone. ALWAYSWANNAFLY hasn’t played Dota in ages. Figuratively speaking. Although, what does ALWAYSWANNAFLY even have to do with this? What did he get in for, anyway? There haven’t been “caps” in Dota 2 for a long time. There are just drafters, that’s all. The captain is basically your coach now.
Former pro player Roman “RAMZES” Kushnarev recently commented on the slot allocation in the closed South American qualifier for The International 2026 and also assessed the play of Nyenngara “23savage” Tiramahanoon.
