SilverName: “I didn’t like Dota 2 because the engine itself is slow.”

David Mchedlishvili
SilverName on the Team Spirit podcast

Professional Hearthstone player Vladislav “SilverName” Sinotov talked about his first experience with Dota 2 in an interview on the Team Spirit Stories YouTube channel.

I played Dota, and I played the MOBA genre in general. I played Heroes of Newerth a lot—it was the equivalent of Dota back in 2011. And I was practically ranked number one on Garena. After that, I switched to Dota 2. I’ve told this story many times, but people just don’t believe me. Back in 2013–2014, that’s when the ladder first appeared. At that time, the top of the ladder was around 7,000 MMR. At that point, I had either 5,400 or 5,600, which means I’d played about 500–1,000 hours nonstop. But I didn’t like Dota 2 because the engine itself is slow. I mean, when you click on Leshrac, for example, it takes time for him to turn around and cast his spells… I didn’t like that. Because in HoN, everything happens as fast as possible, just like in League of Legends.
