Titles in Rocket League: How to Earn Them and Complete Driver Challenges

Gleb Brekhov
Rocket League

Titles in Rocket League are special labels that appear below a player’s name and indicate achievements, rank, or participation in certain events. Some are awarded for leveling up and completing missions, while the rarest ones can be earned through competitive achievements and participation in tournaments. In this guide, we’ll break down the different titles in Rocket League, how to earn them, and what the Driver Trials are for.

What Are Titles in Rocket League

Titles are special inscriptions that can be added to a player’s banner. They appear below the username in the scoreboard and during goal replays, so other players in the match can see them. Titles do not affect a car’s stats, rank, or matchmaking.

What kinds of titles are there in Rocket League

Titles vary in how they’re earned. The game features standard level-up rewards, Rocket Pass titles, seasonal and tournament rewards, as well as titles earned through limited-time events, Community Spotlight, and esports competitions.

For example, leveling up can earn you the titles Veteran, Expert, Master, Legend, and Rocketeer. Specific titles are awarded to players who reach the Great Champion and Supersonic Legend ranks, and winners of competitive tournaments receive a title corresponding to the tournament’s rank.

How to Earn Titles in Rocket League

The method for earning a title depends on the specific title. The main options are:

  • leveling up your account;
  • progressing through the free or premium Rocket Pass tiers;
  • winning competitive tournaments;
  • reaching high ranks and completing seasonal reward requirements;
  • complete challenges in limited-time events;
  • claim free titles during Community Spotlight;
  • participate in official esports competitions.

You can set your earned title via the “Profile” > “Select Banner” menu by clicking the tag icon and choosing the desired option.

Rare and Colored Titles in Rocket League

Colored titles are usually associated with specific achievements. For example, a single victory in a “Grand Champion” rank tournament earns you a gray title, while three victories at that rank during a single season earn you a red one. White and pink titles are available for “Supersonic Legend,” while gray and green titles are available for “Champion” and lower ranks.

Rare titles include those awarded for high competitive ranks, limited-time events, and professional tournaments. Some esports titles are awarded only to participants in official competitions, so it’s impossible to earn them through regular gameplay.

How to Get a Country Title in Rocket League

Country titles were introduced in Rocket League during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. During the event, players could choose one of 48 national teams and receive the corresponding title and Octane decal for free.

Players could select a country until July 13, 2026, so it’s no longer possible to obtain this title through that method.

Driver Challenges in Rocket League

Challenges are tasks that players complete to earn experience and cosmetic rewards. They are divided into weekly, seasonal, event-based, and challenges for new drivers. The latter introduce newcomers to the core mechanics and, starting in Season 20, are required to unlock competitive modes.

To complete the challenges, you must meet the specified conditions: play matches, score goals, win, make saves, and perform other actions. You can view your progress in the Challenges section of the main menu.

There are several types of challenges in Rocket League:

  • weekly — updated every Wednesday;
  • seasonal — available throughout the season and gradually unlocked as the season progresses;
  • event-based — appear during limited-time events and allow you to earn event-related items;
  • Challenges for New Drivers—a separate set of tasks for beginners.

What You Get from Challenges

Completing challenges earns you experience to level up your Rocket Pass, as well as cosmetic rewards. Depending on the season or event, these may include decals, titles, and other customization items.

Weekly and event challenges are time-limited, so you won’t be able to claim their rewards once the time period has ended.
