Valorant Maps in 2026: All Locations, New Maps, and Features of Each Arena

VALORANT

Valorant maps have a significant impact on gameplay. Each location differs in size, number of pathways, verticality, and advantageous positions for different agents. In this guide, we’ve compiled all Valorant maps for 2026, discussed the new map, and briefly covered the features of each location.

How Many Maps Are There in Valorant in 2026

As of 2026, Valorant features 13 standard maps for casual and ranked matches, as well as several separate maps for Team Deathmatch and Training Mode. However, only seven maps are available in the competitive queue at any given time—Riot Games regularly rotates them to add variety to the gameplay.

All Valorant Maps: List and Brief Descriptions

Each Valorant map features unique mechanics to keep the game fresh and dynamic. For example, on one map you can fall into an abyss, while another features teleports that make the game even more unpredictable.

Bind—a map set in Morocco with two spike placement sites and teleports. There is no central lane here, so players often quickly change the direction of their attack by using the portals.

Split — a map set in Tokyo with plenty of vertical positions and narrow passages. Controlling the center plays a decisive role here.

Haven — one of the most unusual maps in the game, as it has three spike placement sites: A, B, and C. Because of this, defenders must constantly divide their forces among multiple directions.

Ascent is an Italian map with large open spaces and a crucial central corridor. It also features mechanical doors that can be closed during a round.

Icebox is a snow-covered research base in Russia. The map is known for its numerous vertical positions, ropes, and challenging line-of-sight lines.

Breeze is a tropical island with very long firing ranges. Sniper rifles and agents capable of gathering intelligence on enemies are particularly effective here.

Fracture is an experimental map in the U.S. where the attacking team starts the round from both sides of the map simultaneously. Because of this, defenders must constantly watch their flanks.

Pearl — an underwater city in Portugal without any special mechanics. The map is built around controlling the center and requires good team coordination.

Lotus is a map set in India with three spike placement sites. Its main features are rotating doors and a destructible wall, which allow players to quickly change the direction of their attack.

Sunset is an urban map set in Los Angeles. It has a classic layout with two spike placement sites and numerous vantage points for controlling the center.

Abyss is the first map in Valorant without protective barriers along the edges. Players can fall into the abyss, so it’s especially important to watch your positioning here.

Corrode is a French fortress city that has been converted into a radiantite mine. It’s a classic three-lane map with plenty of defensive positions and complex control of the center.

Summit is Valorant’s newest map, added in 2026. The action takes place at a snow-covered mountain station, and the location itself combines long-range firefights and tight spaces, making it effective for both snipers and aggressive duelists.

New Valorant Map

On June 24, a new Valorant map—Summit—was added to the map pool. It is themed around a special Chinese academy for Radiants, where Sage trained. The map’s main feature is three closable walls at points A, B, and in the center of the map. Once activated, they remain closed until the end of the round and alter the routes for attackers and defenders.

The map is more compact than Abyss and Corroded, and it’s geared toward close- and mid-range firefights. Agents like Omen and Iso perform well on this map. During the first two weeks after release, players also lose 50% less RR for losses on Summit and receive full rating points for wins.

Which map in Valorant is considered the most difficult?

According to players on Reddit, Breeze, Fracture, and Abyss are considered the most difficult. Each of these maps has its own unique challenges that can trip up both newcomers and even experienced players.

  • Many consider Breeze to be the most difficult map in Valorant due to its enormous size and long firing ranges. Players complain about slow rotations and a large number of open areas where it’s easy to come under sniper fire.
  • Fracture presents challenges due to its unusual design. Attackers can enter from multiple directions at once, so defenders have to constantly move and fight for map control. Some players consider it one of the best maps precisely because of this uniqueness, but it’s hard for beginners to keep track of so much information.
  • Abyss is often criticized for its many corners, difficult access to objectives, and cliffs along the map’s edges. Many gamers believe that perfect coordination is essential to winning on this map, which can be difficult with strangers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
