Deadlock set a new online record on Steam—more than 228,000 players
Following the release of the “Sleepless City” update, Deadlock set a new concurrent player record on Steam. According to SteamDB, 228,086 players were online at the same time.
The record was set on the night of September 29–30. The previous record had stood since September 2024, when Deadlock’s peak concurrent players reached 171,490.
That night, three Valve games held the top three spots on Steam’s online leaderboard: Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Deadlock.

In the update, the Deadlock developers announced six new heroes: Sister Harrow, the Rat King, Violet, Busya, Solomon, and Dead Danny. Starting October 2, two characters will be released each week. The game also features a redesigned map, improved HUD, voice acting, markers, and user settings.
