Russian esports player Anastasia “tokameite” Pozharskaya has left the Gentle Mates GC VALORANT roster. She has been replaced by French-Algerian player Safia “safiaa” Legzale. The announcements were made on the club’s social media accounts.
The coach of the Ex6TenZ roster in X explained the decision in terms of team dynamics:
We had been discussing the decision to make a substitution within the coaching staff for some time. We didn’t want to do it right before the main tournament, but after much deliberation, we came to the conclusion that this was the right decision for the team.
Ultimately, it all came down to team dynamics. We fully understand and share the view that this is a very difficult moment, especially for a player who has been an important part of our journey this year. Nevertheless, we believe this is the direction the team needs to move forward in.
Sometimes, even if you genuinely appreciate a person and everything you’ve been through together, parting ways can still be the right decision for everyone involved. I believe that’s exactly the situation we’re in right now.
We’ve had many great moments and shared achievements this year, and I’m grateful to tokameite for everything she’s contributed to the team. I look to the future with optimism and sincerely wish her all the best.
Pozharskaya joined Gentle Mates GC in January 2026. With her on the team, they won VCT 2026: Game Changers EMEA Stage 1 and reached the Grand Finals of Stage 2 and Stage 3. Prior to that, tokameite played for Twisted Orchid and NASR Ignite.
safiaa previously represented Karmine Corp GC and NASR Ignite. Before her transfer, Legzal primarily played as a dueler and guardian. tokameite, on the other hand, has mostly played as an initiator in recent tournaments.
Gentle Mates GC’s next tournament will be the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026, which will take place from October 22 to November 1 in São Paulo, Brazil. The prize pool has not yet been announced.
