In June’s vote on which themed mode to bring back, “Sea Odyssey” took first place, prompting the developers to announce its addition to PUBG Mobile.
New Areas
Sea Palace
-
Overview
- Beneath the water at the foot of a massive statue lies the Sea Palace, filled with supplies and treasures. A powerful trident is kept in the center of the palace. Claim it once the countdown ends.
- Parachute directly into the ocean at the start of the match to quickly reach the Underwater Palace. Upon touching the water, you’ll quickly sink to the depths and gain access to the Underwater Palace.
- The palace is surrounded by a hydro-suppressor barrier that creates an air pocket, allowing you to freely explore the palace. After a certain amount of time, the kraken will destroy the hydro-suppressor, causing the Sea Palace to flood. When this happens, leave the palace as quickly as possible using the portal or updrafts.
- There are many chests hidden in the waters around the Sea Palace. Explore the depths and find surprises!
-
RespawnRules
- Upon entering the Sea Palace, you’ll receive the blessing of the Heart of the Sea—a special respawn item—for a limited time. If you die in this area, you’ll be able to quickly return to the game. You receive only one special respawn item per match.
- Once you leave the palace grounds, you’ll lose the special respawn item.
- Chests scattered throughout the Sea Palace may contain respawn cards. When used, an active card will return you to the battlefield regardless of where you were eliminated. After using a respawn card, you can still return to the battle if a teammate uses a Return Tower.
Forgotten Ruins
- There are two sea temples located in the Forgotten Ruins. Find the switches to remove the water barrier and enter.
- Beneath the Forgotten Ruins lies a sea treasure vault. Light all the columns at the entrance to open the doors and reach the treasure. Then enter the portal to travel to the sky above the play area and drop down at the selected point.
- Within the Forgotten Ruins, you’ll find turbulent currents and a Tower of Illusions. The turbulent currents will launch you into the air, while the Tower of Illusions helps you navigate the terrain.
- At certain points in the area, a whale will leap out of the water. It leaves a water sphere at its landing spot. Enter it to ride the evacuation whale.
Water Prism
- You can find water prisms surrounded by a barrier on the map. Get closer to break the barrier, enter the prism, and open the chest inside.
Themed Items
Trident
- A special weapon stored in the Sea Palace that becomes available after a set amount of time. Go to the location marked on the mini-map to obtain the trident.
-
Possessing the trident grants the following:
- A special swimming animation.
- The ability to transform into a water tornado that pulls in nearby players. Upon contact with the tornado, players are thrown into the air.
- Increased swimming speed.
Hydro Bomb
-
A new throwable item that can be found on the map. Features:
- When thrown, it creates a massive water sphere at the point of impact. The sphere engulfs players within its blast radius. To escape, they must swim to the edge of the sphere.
- Enemies inside the water sphere are slowed, and you and your teammates gain the ability to dash.
Water Cannon
- A new themed item. Use it to create a water sphere for a short time. You can quickly teleport into the created sphere and from there to the next one.
Evacuation Kit
-
A new themed item for movement. Features:
- Can transport the entire team to the play area.
- Create a water sphere, then enter it to summon the whale. The whale will transport all players inside the water sphere.
- While in flight, you can change your route or land at any time.
Azure Treasure
- Replaces some air cargo crates. A special crate containing the Azure Treasure is ejected by a water column. Inside, you’ll find plenty of supplies.
Themed Vehicles
Shining Stingray
-
A two-seater vehicle with the following capabilities:
- It can travel through new underwater areas and fly through the air. Passengers can fire weapons while flying, but not underwater.
- From a distance, the stingray can be transformed into a special projectile and stored in a backpack, then summoned via the quick-item menu. You can ride the stingray while in the water.
“Sea Odyssey” will be available until the end of the day on November 10, Moscow time; it is supported on the Erangel map—in ranked mode only. “Midnight Hunters” will run for the same duration—this expansion features themed zones and the “Scream” crate, which requires solving a puzzle to open.
