Moreno on Team Vitality: “MLBB is a team game. We make all decisions together.”
Team Vitality mid laner Marcel Juan “Moreno” Moreno Sinulingga gave an interview to our website during the MSC 2026. The player spoke to OFFSTAGE about their victory at MPL Indonesia Season 17, reflected on his responsibilities as captain, and assessed the current meta in MLBB.

Hi! Several teams representing Team Vitality are competing in various disciplines at the Esports World Cup 2026. Do you follow their results? Have you watched any of your women’s team’s MLBB matches?
Yes, we watch a lot of games, including our girls’ matches, because they’re the strongest team in women’s MLBB.
Team Vitality’s women’s roster has dominated the MWI for five years in a row. Do you stay in touch with the players? Do you discuss the meta or train together?
I know they’ve been among the best for several years now. We rarely talk about MLBB, because, as far as I can tell, the meta in the men’s and women’s pro scenes is very different. We have no desire to change the girls’ approach to the game or compromise their performance.
Philippine teams tend to win more often at M-Series tournaments, while teams from Indonesia perform better at the MSC. Is there a pattern here, or is it just a coincidence?
The M-Series tournaments are, of course, larger in scale than the Mid Season Cup, and they also have their own history. I think the Philippine community is proud that local teams have held onto the championship title for many years.
Your team doesn’t have as much experience or as many titles as other teams from MPL Indonesia. What’s it like to constantly play against world-class stars? Are any of them your idols?
This is our first international tournament, but I’ve faced teams from other countries before—for example, Team Falcons PH and others. For me, the Mid Season Cup isn’t much different from other championships, except that the pressure is a bit higher here.
As for my idol, it’s KarlTzy—the true GOAT. That said, he doesn’t intimidate me. I always want to compete against the best and beat them.
You said you dropped out of school to pursue a career in MLBB. Have you ever had any doubts about that decision? Do you plan to get an education in the future?
I don’t regret it. I recently won the MPL. I’d say it’s the best decision of my life. Right now, my career is on the rise. Maybe things will change in the future, and I’ll decide to go back to school, but it’s too early to think about that.
You’re the team captain now. Do you feel a special sense of responsibility when making important decisions?
I don’t feel an excessive burden of responsibility on the server. MLBB is a team game. We make all decisions together. Although, perhaps outside of the game, I do feel responsible for the guys, since they’re younger than me. I want to guide them in the right direction and help them become true professionals.
Your journey to victory at MPL Indonesia with Bigetron by Vitality took a full eight seasons. How did you manage to stay motivated throughout that time? How did you feel when you finally achieved your goal?
I think it’s easy for me to stay motivated because I haven’t really achieved anything yet. I have a passion for the game and a desire to prove myself on the international stage. When I became the MPL champion, I was overjoyed. It was one of my long-standing goals that I’d been striving for for four years.
If you don’t mind me asking, how do you and your coach divide responsibilities during the draft phase? Who always has the final say?
We communicate a lot outside of the game, so everyone’s opinions are taken into account during the draft. However, we’ve established a system where the coach always makes the final decision. We try to respect that.
You moved from the MDL to the MPL while remaining within the same organization. Tell us about how the Bigetron by Vitality academy works. How did it influence your development as a pro player?
I think the academy taught me teamwork and how to handle pressure. However, I really grew as a player while on the main roster. On the Tier 1 scene, everything is set up completely differently. I’m not sure I can fully appreciate the academy system, since I only spent one season there.
This spring in the regional leagues, Zhuxin and Valentina really stood out from the other mid laners in terms of performance. Do you like the current mid lane meta?
There’s a very interesting meta in MLBB right now. For example, I didn’t expect Eidora to be so effective in the early game. She’s one of my favorite heroes at the moment, along with Selena and Valentina.
Finally, MLBB recently released an update that changed the jungle meta. Did it affect your team’s gameplay?
Of course it did. Our team is playing a very aggressive style right now. Thanks to the new jungle meta, we can start the game anywhere on the map. We’ll see how the other teams adapt to these changes.
At the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026, Bigetron by Vitality finished in 5th–8th place, earning $100,000 in prize money. The team is currently competing in the Games of the Future 2026 and has already advanced to the tournament’s playoffs.
