Former pro player Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov spoke about megacreeps and the heroes Riki and Bounty Hunter during a Twitch stream.
All these mechanics are just so outdated. It’s as if, once a team makes a megacreeper, they’re supposed to win instantly. It’s not like when you destroy the last barracks, “Throne” explodes—but the advantage has to be so *** [huge] that people just go in and destroy them right away. And the fact is, you can basically defend against Megacripps for 20 minutes. And it’s set up so that they don’t give you much gold while you’re defending them, so you can’t farm faster, but, essentially, it’s all just a mess.
The lower the skill level, the more people... Well, you know, it’s not so much that they have more understanding, but rather less understanding of what’s actually going on, and for them, the towers are the main thing. Like: “They’re attacking our tower, we need to defend it.” And if they don’t defend it, then they’re ruiner players. That’s how people usually are here, I think.
Riki has his own tricks; Bounty Hunter is more profitable, of course, in the mid-game thanks to Track, but Riki has Cloud. Actually, the cloud eventually becomes a totally *** [insane] ability when you get some item that extends its radius and that silence starts to make a difference. I mean, in the late game, the cloud is just *** [a pain in the ass]—it covers half the screen, and if you don’t have a Black King Bar, you’re *** [screwed].
Earlier, streamer Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov commented on the low viewership at PGL Wallachia Season 9, attributing it to viewers being oversaturated with Dota 2 tournaments and the lack of major updates.
