Sundabule on his career: “Perhaps The International 2026 or EWC 2026 will be my last tournament.”

OG analyst Gregory “Sundabule” Arwind Prasetyo spoke in an interview on Dejet’s YouTube channel about his departure from REKONIX, discussed his role at his new club, and shared his plans for his future career.
On leaving REKONIX
In a way, it was a mutual decision with management. I think everything was decided back at ESL One Birmingham 2026 in the UK—my last tournament with REKONIX. Even before it ended, at the end of the group stage, I told the manager: “I don’t think I can keep going; I’m burned out.” I’d been feeling tilt since January, even when we were winning the qualifiers.
Even winning the qualifiers and making it to ESL didn’t bring me happiness—just relief. The feeling was, “Phew, it’s over,” not joy. This championship is historically considered one of the biggest; it was supposed to be a major event, but I didn’t feel happy. That’s when I realized I was truly burned out.
Nevertheless, I kept working. However, toward the end of the tournament, I realized I couldn’t go on. It was better to take a break—especially since I knew I was leaving to study in three months. I feel really bad for the guys at REKONIX. If I had stayed in that state, and the EWC and The International were coming up... It’s better to leave now than to quit everything at the decisive moment and break up the team.
On working as an analyst
My responsibilities are more limited than those of the coach and players. I don’t make final decisions—my job is to provide data. For example, at BLAST Slam VII, my first tournament in this role, I mainly prepared information on our opponents’ drafts: I predicted their picks and suggested options for our responses. If the opponent goes down this path, we take one; if they go down another, we take another. But if something doesn’t go according to plan, the players and the coach handle the draft entirely. I don’t participate directly in the game. I can suggest a meta or certain heroes to try out, but not during a tournament.
On the future of my career
Well then, haters, you got your way: I left REKONIX. Now I’m not even the head coach. And after this explanation, I don’t even know myself if I’ll continue at all—school starts soon.
I don’t know how much longer I’ll stay in Dota. Maybe The International or EWC will be my last tournament. After that, most likely, retirement. Although “retirement” is too strong a word. Maybe I’ll just take a break and then come back as a coach. Who knows.
Earlier, Gregorius “Sundabule” Arwind Prasetyo spoke about how his mindset changed after facing European teams: “The concept of a ‘small mistake’ doesn’t exist at all; there’s no distinction between big and small, and every single one will be exploited against you by teams that are objectively stronger.”
