Apex Legends Settings for FPS: Best Graphics and Launch Options

Gleb Brekhov
Apex Legends

Apex Legends lets you flexibly customize graphics and performance to suit any computer. The right settings can help boost your FPS, reduce input lag, and make the visuals smoother during firefights. In this guide, we’ll break down the best settings for Apex Legends, useful launch options, ways to remove the FPS cap, and the settings that have the greatest impact on performance.

Best Apex Legends Settings for FPS

If your main goal is to maximize performance, it’s best to disable most visual effects or set them to the lowest settings.

Disabling vertical sync and reducing the quality of shadows, volumetric lighting, anti-aliasing, and ambient occlusion typically yield the greatest increase in frames per second. These settings place the heaviest load on the graphics card.

Best Launch Settings for Apex Legends

You can add additional launch options in Steam or the EA App. Currently, Respawn officially supports only some of the older commands.

-novid — disables the intro video and slightly speeds up the game’s launch.

+fps_max 240 — sets the FPS value (choose based on your monitor’s refresh rate or set it to “unlimited” to remove restrictions)

We do not recommend using older options such as -high, -threads, +cl_forcepreload, and similar ones. Many of them are no longer supported or do not provide a noticeable performance boost.

How to Remove the FPS Limit in Apex Legends

By default, the game allows you to limit the frame rate through the launch options.

For Steam:

  1. Open your library.
  2. Right-click on Apex Legends.
  3. Select “Properties.”
  4. In the “Launch Options” field, enter +fps_max unlimited

Or, instead of “unlimited,” enter your desired frame rate limit based on your monitor's refresh rate—60, 90, or 144.

How to Check Your FPS in Apex Legends

The easiest way is to enable the FPS counter through Steam or via the in-game Performance Display menu. This will let you assess the impact of graphics settings and notice performance drops in time.

Open Steam, click the logo in the top-left corner, go to “Settings” > “In-Game” > “Performance Monitor.” Choose to display the counter in whichever corner is most convenient for you.

Большинство игроков используют значение 90–104, поскольку оно обеспечивает хороший обзор без заметной потери фпс.
Нет. Для максимального фпс и минимальной задержки ввода вертикальную синхронизацию обычно рекомендуют отключать.
