Spirits in Fortnite: Where to Find All Spirits and What They Do

Fortnite Spirits were introduced with the new season and have become an important part of the gameplay. Each spirit provides a useful effect or unlocks additional abilities during a match. In this guide, we’ll explain where to find Fortnite spirits, what they do, and the different types of Fortnite spirits.
What Are Fortnite Spirits and Why Do You Need Them?
Spirits in Fortnite are special creatures that you can encounter on the map and use as a helpful passive ability. They were introduced in the new season and have become an important part of matches, as they help you move faster, find useful items, or gain other advantages.
Each spirit has its own effect, so your choice depends on your playstyle. Some spirits help with exploring the map, while others make it easier to collect loot or move around. Because of this, searching for spirits has significantly changed the early game—all players try to find the spirit that’s most useful for their playstyle.
Where to Find Fortnite Spirits on the Map
Spirits in Fortnite appear at predetermined locations on the map, but not in all locations at the same time. They share the same spawn zones, but each specific spirit spawns at a different location each time. Therefore, to find them quickly, players usually check several known spawn locations marked on interactive maps and in guides.

All Fortnite Spirits
Spirits are categorized by rarity, and each spirit has a different effect, also categorized by rarity (Gold, Marmalade, Galactic, Precious, or Cubic). For example, a common Earth Spirit typically grants a buff for additional rare-tier items, but if you get its gold version, you’ll receive an additional buff to experience gained, and if you get the precious version, fall damage will be reduced.
| Spirit | Ability |
| Spirit of the Earth | Additional rare loot from chests |
| Spirit of Fire | Fire Wave after dealing damage |
| Spirit of Water | Shields are restored in water |
| Fish Spirit | Increases swimming speed and damage dealt |
| Spirit of Air | Movement Speed and Double Jump |
| Duck Spirit | Shield regeneration during emotes |
| Ghost Spirit | Temporary invisibility after recharging |
| Demonic Spirit | Restores health and shields after elimination |
| Royal Spirit | Increased Pickaxe Damage |
| Blunt Spirit | Adrenaline boost when climbing walls and jumping |
| Aura Spirit | An aura that protects against a portion of damage |
| Fantastic Spirit | High-quality weapons upon leveling up |
| Rebellious Spirit | ? |
| Boss Spirit | Max Health |
| Spirit of the Seven | Summons one of the Seven |
| Spirit of the Zero Point | Gives a potion when healing |
| Spirit of the Burnt Peanut (TheBurntPeanut) | Increased loot upon killing, including Mythic loot |
| Reaper's Spirit | Restores health after a kill and provides a damage buff |
Almost all spirits (except TheBurntPeanut and the Reaper) have different effects depending on their rarity:
- Gold: Additional experience upon kills;
- Marmalade: 10% more dust;
- Galactic: 20% more ammo when opening crates;
- Precious: 30% less fall damage;
- Cubic: Increases the chance of finding a spirit of a higher rarity.
Fortnight’s Rebel Spirit: What It Does and How to Use It

Currently, the Rebel Spirit’s description does not mention a standard passive ability, such as shield regeneration or bonus damage. Its in-game description is very vague: “Maybe nothing… or something incredible.”
However, players on Reddit have discovered that after upgrading the Rebel Spirit to Level 5, it has a chance to grant the effect of infinite ammo. You still need to reload your weapon, but your ammo supply doesn’t decrease. The effect doesn’t always trigger, so you shouldn’t build your entire strategy around it, but if you’re lucky and it works, it will make the game much easier.
