The Blistering Blizzard in Genshin Impact: Where to Find It and How to Defeat It

The Blasting Blizzard is a boss in Genshin Impact that can be found on Frosty Peak in Snowfall. It has high Cryo resistance and shields itself with an icy barrier during combat. In this guide, we’ll break down how to get to the Blasting Blizzard, which party to bring, and how to earn the “Only Girls on Fire” achievement.

The Blasting Blizzard is located in a crevice near a frozen pond on Frosty Peak. Head north from the nearest open teleport to the bay. When you enter the arena, the boss will appear. You can activate a teleportation point nearby to return for materials more quickly.

The Devastating Blizzard has 50% Cryo resistance and 10% resistance to each of the other elements and physical damage. Therefore, it’s best to replace your main Cryo damage dealer with a hero of a different element.

The boss has a Cryo Shield mechanic, so you don’t necessarily have to include only Starfall heroes in your squad—you can bring Mawika, Arlequino, Lini, and other Pyro damage dealers, along with their squads on Steam, Tayan, and Overload.

Basically, any damage dealer—except for Cryo damage dealers—will work to secure a victory.

The Blasting Blizzard has standard attacks where she releases ice shards or suddenly closes in on an active party member to deal damage. These can be avoided by using a shield or dodging. A unique feature of this boss is that she shields herself after losing a significant portion of her health and begins to charge a special attack.

“Stellar Dispersion” and “Stellar Conduit” help weaken the boss’s defenses. Use Electro, Anemo, or Pyro against her shield.

To earn this achievement, you must destroy the Blasting Blizzard’s ice coffin using only Pyro attacks.

Wait for the barrier to appear and attack it with fire. If you’re playing in a team with other elements, make sure your sub-DPS abilities aren’t active and won’t deal damage outside the target area.
