World of Tanks 2026 Birthday: Date, Rewards, Containers, Garage, and Promo Codes

In August, World of Tanks will celebrate its 16th anniversary with a large-scale in-game event. Players can look forward to a festive garage, crates with valuable rewards, free gifts, a silver-to-gold exchange, combat missions, and many other activities. In this article, we’ve compiled everything known about World of Tanks’ 2026 Birthday: dates, rewards, crates, the new garage, and promo codes.
When Is the 2026 World of Tanks Birthday Event?

In 2026, the World of Tanks Birthday event runs from August 5 at 9:00 a.m. to August 20 at 3:00 a.m. (Moscow Standard Time). Over the course of two weeks, players will have access to festive activities, the event progression, crates, a themed garage, the ability to exchange silver for gold via the “Golden Car,” and a host of free rewards.
Some activities will start later than the main event. For example, the “Golden Carriage” will open on August 6 at 8:00 p.m. (Moscow Time), while free gifts—including the premium SU-100I SPG—will become available on August 12. So be sure to log in throughout the event to avoid missing out on new stages and rewards.
What’s New in the World of Tanks Event
In 2026, World of Tanks’ birthday celebration features several new activities and updated mechanics. Players can look forward to the festive “Modelist’s Room” hangar, where the familiar garage will transform into a cozy workshop filled with miniatures, commemorative trophies, and quick access to all the event’s activities.
The festive mail mechanic has returned. For your first victory of the day in any Tier IV or higher vehicle, you can earn a postage stamp and send a package to a friend, clan member, or player from recent battles. If you reply to a received package with a gift, both players will receive a “Holiday Package” bonus container.
A new progression system featuring 10 stages and an endless bonus stage has been added to the event. Completing tasks rewards players with festive containers, gold, Premium Account days, 2D skins, and unique crew members with one 100% unallocated skill. The main reward is Commander Timurka with his own voice lines, who can be obtained after completing 45 challenges.

In total, you can obtain five new crew members:
- Timur—the event’s main character;
- Yadviga Yaginskaya—a famous engineer from the Assembly Shop;
- Max von Krieger—an engineer from Germany;
- Elena Vasilyeva—a hacker;
- Konstantin Koscheev—a former intelligence officer.
The developers have also brought back the Golden Car — a system for exchanging silver for gold. The more gold there is in the shared vault, the more favorable the exchange rate becomes. The wagon is replenished daily: not only by the developers, but also through players’ purchases of holiday crates.
Other new features include two types of holiday containers with new gear, a temporary +25% bonus to silver and experience in several modes, a special event store, free gifts for completing a single battle, and a large-scale giveaway of gaming PCs, laptops, graphics cards, gold, and other valuable prizes.
2026 Birthday Crates

Two types of festive crates are available during the event: Birthday 2026 and Festive Package. The first can be purchased with gold, while the second is awarded for participating in festive activities: sending gifts via festive mail, completing an additional progression stage, and claiming rewards from the calendar.
The Birthday 2026 container offers Tier VIII–IX Premium tanks, including the new HSD-1, ASU-85, and ALRS M6, as well as legendary vehicles from previous years.

In addition, the crates contain 2D-style animations, Premium Account days, Silver, Free Experience, Personal Reserves, economic bonuses, and other useful rewards. However, vehicles that are already in the Restoration section or have already been sold will not drop from the crates. A guaranteed valuable reward is guaranteed no later than every 50th crate.
The “Holiday Package” container contains gold tickets for the Golden Car, equipment, and economic instructions. It is distributed free of charge to all players, so everyone can receive a reward during the holiday.
Golden Car: How to Exchange Silver for Gold
The Golden Train is a special World of Tanks birthday feature that lets you exchange silver for gold. To make the exchange, you’ll need Gold Tickets—the event’s special currency. They’re awarded for completing progression stages, from “Holiday Package” containers, and in special event store bundles.
The exchange rate depends on the amount of gold in the shared vault. The more gold accumulated in the wagon, the better the exchange rate. The developers replenish the supply daily up to 125 million gold, and each “Birthday 2026” container purchased by players adds another 40 gold to the vault.
Exchange rate:
- more than 100 million gold in the wagon — 200,000 silver per 1 gold ticket;
- 25 to 100 million — 320,000 silver;
- less than 25 million—640,000 silver.
Unused gold tickets will automatically expire after the event ends, so don’t forget to use them before the World of Tanks Birthday ends.
