As part of BlizzCon 2026, the Blizzard Classic Cup tournament for classic games took place—Chang “MC” Min-chul was crowned the StarCraft II champion.
MC defeated Gregory “IdrA” Andrew Fields with a score of 3–0. The American, playing as the Zerg, lost all three maps—Daybreak, Cloud Kingdom, and Shakuras Plateau—to his Protoss opponent. The maps Xel’Naga Caverns and Metalopolis, which were also part of the best-of-five (bo5) format, were not played.
Min Chul received $20,000 for winning the Blizzard Classic Cup.
In addition to the main 1v1 match, MC and IdrA also took part in an exhibition match—in which the esports players were joined by actor Simu Liu, K-pop star Shindong, and RSL Revival 6 finalists Rogue and Serral. Ming Chul’s team also emerged victorious in this match.
