Darius (Dyrroth) is an aggressive fighter in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang who specializes in close combat and dealing high physical damage. Thanks to his dashes, enhanced abilities, and the ability to reduce enemies’ defense, he can quickly take down even fairly tanky heroes. In this guide, we’ll break down Darius’s skills, the best items and emblems, and explain how to play him effectively and which heroes to watch out for.

Darius is a fighter-class hero who most often occupies the EXP lane. He can also be used in the jungle, where he’s capable of quickly clearing camps and launching surprise attacks on other lanes. The character’s main objective is to apply constant pressure, win duels, and quickly eliminate dangerous opponents.
The hero can be purchased in the in-game store for 32,000 Battle Points or 599 Diamonds. Sometimes Darius is available as a reward for new players, so it’s worth checking the starter quests and events before buying him.
Darius’s main strength is his high physical damage combined with mobility and health regeneration. Thanks to his enhanced abilities, he can reduce enemies’ defense, quickly close the distance, and finish them off with a powerful ultimate. This champion performs particularly well in the early and mid-game, when he can gain an advantage through aggressive play.
However, Darius relies heavily on proper skill usage and building up Rage. If an opponent survives his primary combo or manages to dodge his ultimate, it will be difficult for him to finish the attack. Additionally, he is vulnerable to prolonged crowd control and opponents who can consistently maintain distance.

Darius has four abilities. His mechanics are based on building up Rage, which enhances his core abilities and allows him to deal bonus damage. To play him successfully, it’s important to manage your Rage charges wisely and choose the right moment to attack.
When Darius’s Rage reaches 50%, he enhances “Explosive Strike” and “Phantom Step.” After every two basic attacks, the champion performs a sweeping strike, dealing physical damage to surrounding enemies and restoring health. Hits on enemy champions also reduce the cooldown of his core abilities. Additionally, Darius gradually regenerates Rage on his own, making it easier for him to sustain his enhanced abilities during prolonged battles.
Dyrroth unleashes a series of strikes in the specified direction, dealing physical damage and slowing affected enemies. When empowered by Rage, the area of effect increases, the attacks become more powerful, and the slow effect is stronger. “Explosive Strike” is useful for quickly clearing minions, applying pressure on the lane, and dealing damage to multiple enemies at once.
Darius dashes in the selected direction, dealing physical damage to the first hero or monster hit and slightly knocking them back. When used again, he attacks the selected target, dealing bonus damage and significantly reducing its armor. If the ability is empowered by Fury, the damage and armor reduction are even higher. “Phantom Step” is good for initiating combos, chasing enemies, and fighting tanks.
After a brief wind-up, Darius delivers a powerful strike in the selected direction, dealing heavy physical damage to all enemies in its path and slowing them. The bonus damage depends on the target’s missing health, so this ultimate is particularly effective for finishing off wounded enemies. During the wind-up, an enemy may have time to dodge, so it’s best to use this ability after reducing the enemy’s defense with your second ability and dealing some initial damage.
At level 1, learn “Explosive Strike” to clear minions faster and apply pressure on the enemy. At level 2, unlock “Phantom Step” to close the distance and reduce physical armor. Then prioritize upgrading your first ability, level up your second ability next, and upgrade your ultimate whenever possible.
Darius’s Main Combo Sequences:
The key is not to use “Abyssal Strike” too early. The less health the enemy has left, the more dangerous Darius’s ultimate becomes.

Darius needs physical attack, ability cooldown reduction, and additional survivability. The core build combines burst damage with the ability to sustain prolonged fights. However, individual items should be adjusted based on the enemy team’s composition.
For standard laning, the following six items are suitable:
If your team is comfortably winning, you can purchase offensive items earlier to increase the pressure. Against strong fighters and assassins, it’s better to build “Queen’s Wings” and additional defense as quickly as possible.
“Ancient Cuirass” is useful against opponents who deal high physical damage with their abilities, such as Saber or Lapu-Lapu. “Valkyrie’s Shield” protects against powerful burst magic damage. It can be used instead of “Immortality” or “Hunter’s Strike” if survivability is more important than additional damage.
“Blade of Despair” significantly increases physical attack and boosts damage against weakened enemies. It’s well-suited for an aggressive build when Darius has already gained an advantage and is capable of quickly eliminating enemy marksmen and mages. “Heavenly Piercer” is also worth considering if you have a solid gold lead. This item helps finish off enemies with low health, but it offers virtually no survivability, so it’s not suitable for every match.

The Assassin and Fighter runes are suitable for Darius. The first option boosts burst damage and allows you to take down single targets faster, while the second increases survivability in prolonged fights.
The Assassin rune increases adaptive attack damage, penetration, and movement speed. It’s essential for an aggressive playstyle, where Darius is constantly looking for opportunities to quickly eliminate opponents.
For a standard build, you can choose the following talents:
Instead of “Rift,” you can use “Tremor,” which increases adaptive attack and helps deal more damage early in the game.
The Fighter Emblem boosts adaptive attack, hybrid defense, and skill vamp. This option is better suited for prolonged battles where Darius needs not only to deal damage but also to regenerate health.
You can choose the following talents for him:
If you need additional survivability, you can choose “Bravery” instead of “Battle Cry.” It restores a portion of your health when you deal damage with an ability, helping you stay in the front lines longer.
For laning, the Fighter emblem is considered the more sustainable option, while the Assassin emblem is better suited for quick kills and active movement across the map.
“Stun,” “Flash,” “Vengeance,” and “Retribution” are all suitable for Darius. The choice depends on your role and intended playstyle.
“Stun” helps further immobilize the enemy and prevent them from dodging your ultimate. It’s effective against mobile marksmen and assassins capable of quickly leaving the area of effect.
“Flash” allows you to close the distance unexpectedly, reposition before using “Abyssal Strike,” or escape a dangerous fight. It’s a versatile option for the experience lane.
“Retribution” reduces incoming damage and reflects a portion of that damage back to attacking enemies. It’s well-suited for prolonged fights against fighters and teams forced to engage Darius at close range.
If the champion is heading into the jungle, you should choose “Retribution.” It allows you to clear monsters faster and secure the Turtle and Lord more reliably.

Darius is most effective when he actively pressures opponents and uses his damage advantage to secure early kills. His goal is to win duels, quickly eliminate dangerous targets, and prevent the enemy team from calmly farming gold and experience.
Early in the game, head to the experience lane and learn “Explosive Strike” to clear minions. Try to deal damage to the enemy at the same time, gradually chipping away at their health. After unlocking his second ability, Darius becomes particularly dangerous in duels, as he can reduce an enemy’s physical armor and quickly finish them off. However, don’t mindlessly attack under an enemy tower. Once you’ve unlocked your ultimate, try to help your team in fights over the Turtle.
By mid-game, Darius has acquired his core offensive items and is capable of quickly eliminating enemy marksmen, mages, and fighters. Move between lanes more often, assist your allies, and look for opportunities to launch surprise attacks. In team fights, don’t be the first to charge into the center of the enemy team: it’s better to wait until an allied tank initiates the attack, then come in from the flank and use your combo on the most dangerous target.
Late in the game, it becomes more difficult for Darius to fight against teams with a lot of crowd control and defensive items. Try to target isolated enemies, avoid prolonged engagements with multiple opponents, and save “Phantom Step” for closing in or retreating. It’s especially important to use your ultimate correctly: one successful attack can take down an enemy marksman, but a miss often leaves you unable to quickly finish the fight.
Darius struggles against heroes capable of withstanding his burst damage and forcing prolonged fights. Tammuz, Argus, and Masha are particularly dangerous. Tammuz effectively regenerates health and deals sustained damage; Argus can survive a basic combo thanks to his ultimate; and Masha is dangerous in close combat and can quickly take down Darius. Benedetta and Lancelot also pose challenges due to their high mobility and ability to dodge “Blow of the Abyss.” Against such heroes, it’s important to time your attacks correctly and not waste dashes unnecessarily.
Darius’s best allies are considered to be Franco, Kayla, Tigril, and Angela. Franco and Kayla can immobilize a key target for an extended period, allowing the fighter to safely execute his primary combo. Tigril helps initiate team fights and hold off multiple opponents at once, while Angela boosts Darius’s survivability with healing and a protective shield. Other support heroes who help him continue attacking after the initial engagement are also good choices.
