Team Spirit’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang coach Nikita “Coldstar” Morozov, discussed the team’s current form in an interview during the MLBB Continental Championships Season 8, reflected on the potential for fighters to peak on the Gold Lane following the release of patch 2.2.16, and shared his thoughts on the state of the hero Masha following her rework.
Atlas, you know, he showed up for a bit and then disappeared. Atlas mostly stays as a roamer; people occasionally pick him up. Well, I don’t know—it’s also a trend in Asia right now; the Philippines started picking Atlas, and Minos also surged in popularity. Tanks… Tanks are good on the experience lane, so, in principle, it all makes sense. If tanks are strong, then why? Gato is also going to be played on the experience lane right now—by the way, I’m surprised he hasn’t been picked yet. Did Castle pick him? Okay.
No, what’s wrong with that? Tanks are meta on EXP—it’s fine, why not? You’ve got enough damage: damage from mid, damage from the jungle, damage from gold—everything’s fine. You can pick a tank on EXP and farm—what’s wrong with that?
Yeah, I’d say about sixty percent, maybe seventy. Something like that. I mean, we’re clearly not at our peak right now—that’s a hundred percent certain. In many respects. And I know for sure that, generally speaking, any mistakes we’re making now, we definitely don’t make them when we’re in top form. And the way we play—when we’re in top form, say, during an international event after training in Asia and so on, when we’re at boot camp, and how we play online… There really is a difference.
At some point, we moved away from them a bit due, again, to the meta… Here, we also need to take into account the specifics of our region, how things work here, and it seems that right now we simply see that it’s more effective to play with marksmen rather than fighters. This, again, could change at any moment, so we’re monitoring trends and seeing how things play out in our region.
Obviously, we keep an eye on how Asian teams play, observe their meta shifts, and test the most effective strategies in scrims. Whatever approach we find to be the most effective, we use it and stick with it. Right now, we’re seeing that the marksmen are performing well—we’re going with the marksmen, but at some point, we might switch back to fighters. In other words, I think it’s important to stay flexible here, and the more flexible your team is, the harder it is for opponents to play against you, prepare for you, and so on.
She might be situational, but I think she’s a pretty good champion if you build her as a tank. I mean, she has her skills, a nice stun from her ultimate—I can see that—and her passive is good when she starts swinging her claws. The fact that this second skill now has a cooldown when she loses health. There are certain advantages. I haven’t played her myself, so, you know, I can’t say for sure—we haven’t tested her yet. But I think she definitely has potential in certain matchups; that is, she can at least counter some strong laners, based on my impressions. She used to be purely a late-game champion. From what I understand, she’s improved in the early game compared to before, so it feels like she could be viable, but it’s too early to say for sure. I don’t think she’s a full DPS champion.
Team Spirit prevailed in their series against Level UP on the ninth match day of the MLBB Continental Championships Season 8 regular season with a score of 2-0. Currently, the “Dragons” are in second place in the tournament standings with twenty-three points.
