How to Obtain the Cryo Treasure Compass in Genshin Impact
The Cryo Treasure Compass is designed for exploring the Snow region in Genshin Impact. It helps you locate nearby chests and oculi, and upgrading the device increases its search radius. This makes exploring the region 100% easier and allows you to collect all Source Stones without constantly referring to the interactive map. How to Unlock the Cryo Treasure Compass
To unlock the Snow Region Treasure Compass, first teleport to the region and progress through the Archons’ quest “Merciless Frost” to the meeting point.
After that, raise the level of any of the Snow region’s factions to Level 1. To do this, you must complete the offering point quests, explore 10% of the territories associated with your chosen faction, and donate 20 Cryo Seals.
Offering points are marked on the map with a snowflake icon. Until the quest is completed, they are highlighted in blue. In each region, you must obtain your own compass and level it up.
How to Use the Snowy Treasure Compass
To use the compass, open your inventory and go to the “Tools” section, indicated by a small briefcase icon. Select the Cryo Treasure Compass and click “Switch” to equip it in place of your current device. For convenience, you can also enable “Quick Swap” in the settings.
Once equipped, head out into Snowy’s open world and activate the compass. The device will mark the nearest chests, timed challenges, and Cryo Orbs on the map. As you level up the compass, its detection radius increases, and the ability to search for hidden treasures becomes available.
How to Upgrade the Cryo Treasure Compass
As you explore the world and make offerings, you can level up your compass. At every odd level, its exploration potential increases:
- Level 1 — 10% total exploration progress. Shows treasures and treasure hints in the current area;
- Level 2 — 30% total exploration progress;
- Level 3 — 50% total exploration progress. Shows scattered Cryocules, Shadowwing Drops, up to 10 treasures and hints about them, as well as scattered Cryocules;
- Level 4 — 70% overall research progress;
- Level 5 — 90% total exploration progress. Shows all lost Cryocules, Shadowwing Drops, as well as more treasures and hints about treasures in the current area.
