Sion in Overwatch is a damage-dealing hero with two pistols and a motorcycle. She quickly closes in on enemies, attacks from the flanks, and finishes off lone targets. In this guide, we’ll break down how to play as Sion in Overwatch, use her abilities, and choose the right moment to attack.
| Ability | Button | What It Does |
| Kira’s Pistols | Left Mouse Button | Primary weapon for close and medium range. Damage decreases at long range |
| Execution | PKM | Fires an X-shaped burst. Charging reduces spread but does not increase the burst's damage |
| Dodge | Shift | A dash that grants temporary bonus health |
| Dangerous Ride | E | Shion gets on a motorcycle. You can steer it toward an enemy and detonate it |
| Satsuriku | Q | Ultimate: dashes and fires a barrage around Shion. Damage is dealt at the end of the dash |

Start the fight near your team and look for opportunities to flank the enemy. When enemies are distracted by your tank, use the motorcycle to get close to a support hero or another vulnerable target. After hitting an enemy with your motorcycle, finish them off with “Execution” and regular shots.
Don’t waste both movement abilities without a retreat plan. If you ride your motorcycle into the enemy team and immediately use Dash, it will be harder to get out of the fight. Pick the nearest cover in advance and memorize the locations of health kits.
Zion performs best at close and medium ranges. Engaging in long-range firefights with snipers across the entire map is disadvantageous: use flanking routes and cover to close the distance.
At close range, fire without a long charge: charging reduces spread rather than increasing the volley’s damage. If the target is farther away, charge the ability while behind cover and only come out to fire.
Aim to hit with most of the burst. Once you’ve hit an enemy, it’s easier to finish them off with your motorcycle, so combine these abilities.
Save the dash for when the enemy starts counterattacking. It helps you change position and survive some damage thanks to the extra health.
“Dodge” can be used while “Execution” is charging. This allows you to reposition yourself before firing. However, the extra health doesn’t make Sion invulnerable—dodging around a corner is usually more useful than dodging deeper into the enemy team.
Activate “Dangerous Ride” from behind cover so the enemy can’t see the start of the maneuver. Approach from the side and steer the motorcycle toward your chosen target. After hitting the target, immediately continue your attack with your pistols.
The motorcycle is also useful for quickly changing positions. You don’t have to charge at the enemy every time: sometimes it’s better to reach a favorable vantage point and wait for the team fight to begin.
During “Satsuriku,” the dash itself doesn’t deal damage—the hit occurs as a burst at the end of the dash. Finish the dash right next to the enemy, or the attack will miss.
Don’t activate your ultimate in front of the entire enemy team while they’re ready to engage you. Shion remains vulnerable and loses access to her regular abilities. It’s better to attack after the fight has started, when enemies have already used up some of their defensive abilities.
Don’t chase after a team wipe. Taking out a single support champion and surviving is often more useful than dying while trying to hit all five at once.
Sion benefits from allies who can distract enemies, hold targets in place, or protect her during an attack.

Keep your distance and watch for flanking routes. If Zion disappears from view after the fight starts, check the flanks and alert your team.
Attack her after she uses her motorcycle: without it, it’s harder for her to change position quickly. Don’t stray too far from your allies—Zion can finish off a lone target more easily.
Barriers and abilities that absorb projectiles are effective against her ultimate. However, the motorcycle and “Satsuriku” barrages work differently: D.Va’s shield can absorb the ultimate’s shots, but not the flying motorcycle itself.
Sion thrives on sections with flanking routes, cover, and accessible health kits. There also needs to be room to maneuver on the motorcycle.
On long, open stretches, it’s harder for her to close in on long-range heroes. Narrow passages with no alternative routes are also problematic: enemies can see in advance where the attack will come from.
