PUBG Investigators: How to Earn the Title and What It Means

Investigators in PUBG are players who help developers combat cheaters. They have access to the complaint review system and can review match replays to determine whether a player used banned software. In this article, we’ll explain how to become an investigator in PUBG, what titles are available, and what “Elite Investigator” means.
Who Are PUBG Investigators?

Investigators are participants in the violation review program. They receive recordings of suspicious matches and make a determination: whether or not a player used cheats. The final decision on a ban is still made by the PUBG Studios system.
How to Become an Investigator in PUBG
Not all players gain access to the program. Typically, you need to have a good in-game reputation, a high account level, and play regularly in ranked or casual matches. Once you meet these requirements, an “Investigator” section will appear in the in-game menu, where you can begin reviewing reports.
To get started, go to the menu in the bottom right corner and select “Safety Center.”

At the bottom, select “Investigators.” If your account meets the criteria, you can participate in the program.

Investigator Titles in PUBG
By participating in complaint investigations, players gradually raise their status. If your assessment of a cheater matches PUBG Studios’ decision and the cheater is banned, your Investigator title increases, and your account gains more trust.
There are six main titles in the system:
- Rookie Investigator — the first rank after gaining access to the system.
- Investigator Corporal — unlocks the first additional rewards and bonuses.
- Investigator Sergeant — increases the daily investigation limit and unlocks the “Elite Investigator” set.
- Investigator Officer—grants more privileges and increases the weight of your decisions when reviewing complaints.
- Lieutenant Investigator — allows you to apply for the Eagle Investigator program and increases the investigation limit.
- Major Investigator — the highest standard rank in the Investigator system.
For active participation in the Investigator program, PUBG awards exclusive cosmetic rewards that cannot be obtained through normal means. As players rise through the ranks, they unlock unique titles, loot box vouchers, in-game AG currency, and special clothing sets.
Elite Investigator in PUBG—How to Get It
The Elite Investigator is one of the rarest outfits in PUBG, available only through participation in the cheater investigation program. It isn’t sold in the store or dropped from crates, so it’s considered an exclusive reward for active investigators. The outfit not only highlights the owner’s deep understanding of the game but also serves as a moral rebuke to cheaters who cross paths with him in the game.
To unlock the set, you must raise your investigator rank to Sergeant and continue successfully investigating reports.
