Valve has opened pre-orders for the Steam Machine—the base model costs $1,049

Valve has officially opened pre-orders for the Steam Machine gaming PC.

Two versions of the device are available: one with a 512 GB SSD priced at $1,049 and one with a 2 TB SSD priced at $1,349. Purchase eligibility is determined by a lottery. According to Valve, the first batch will be shipped to users who have reserved a unit as early as June 29, after which the right to purchase will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Valve announced the release of the Steam Machine, along with an official controller and virtual reality headset, on November 12, 2025. Of the entire lineup of devices presented, only the VR headset has not yet been released. Its release date and price have not yet been disclosed.
